Scottish flags at COMS...

Ironic you talk about bigotry, but are opposed to someone displaying their nations flag, and seem to associate all Scots with sectarianism.

Look, I know we will have Scottish fans, and I certainly do associate every Scotsman or woman with sectarianism and bigotry, mabye I should have left a disclaimer at the bottom of my post for the less perceptive among us. Now let me make on thing clear for the less observant among us;

I have nothing against Scottish Manchester City fans.

Yet you must acknowledge that we have had Scottish "fans" who come with an agenda, that being to expose us to their sectarian religious nonsense, as seen when we played Celtic in August.

I have a problem with Scottish fans who have a poorly hidden agenda.

Can you not acknowledge any point I have made without attempting to criticise the credibility of my post?

we support an english team in an english league, whats the point in waving flags that don't have anything to do with us

Errrrr - Georgia flags, Brazil Flags, Ireland flags, Polish flags (distant memory), Belgium flags, GB flags, flagging flags! Looking forward to lots more colour at COMS. Holland, Argentina et al. And of course England.

i'm gonna give him fair dues here...

are you referring to the fact than man u have links with celtic (largelt due to the fact that most of their fans are irish!!!), so that means rangers fans support City??

otherwise I'm confused by your opinions!

Why?

I saw a few today, which I had not noticed before...

We have no Scottish players in the first team, and thus have little or no reason to have any association with Scotland, so why are these bigots trying to associate themselves with our religion-free club?

Yeah blue and white flag with the words 'Glasgow Man City', that's obviously a real statement of err..... support for Man City. Please explain why that's bigotry? Maybe you think the other banner that's clear to see from the East stand.... 'Mcr Airport Black Cab Drivers' is displayed by former members of the Black Panthers.

Did it ever occur to you that I might not have noticed what was written on the flag? I don't take a pair of binoculars to COMS, and thus didn't see what was written on the flag.

What I have said stands, especially regarding the Celtic game pre season.

Hello Singing, i'll acknowledge the highlighted part of what you said is spot on. But, your generalisation about Scots hating the English is plain daft, (unless you're talking about my Mother in law!), as is your assumption that flying Scottish flag automatically = sectarianism

They tried their best to tag along when we played Celtic in a pre season friendly at Celtic Park.

Why do these people try and associate themselves with us?

The sectarian nonsense that they bring is a crippling disease which we need to steer clear of. And pardon my ignorance, but I thought the Scottish hated the English, well that's certainly the general consensus isn't it?

We are a religion-free club, and always have been. Please take your disease elsewhere.

sorry pal but that's just bollocks. I'm the world's biggest supporter of England at anything but that doesn't mean I'm against the Jocks being Jocks! I have a soft spot for Queen's Park FC and if I went to their matches I'd gladly take along a HUGE St George's flag with Queen's Park FC, Manchester on it no problem. Religion, sectarianism and bigotry has nothing to do with location and national allegience.

Are you stupid or what???? I have been to Glasgow lots of times and been unfortunate to witness bigotry at its worst!!! my partner is not from Glasgow where your statement seems to stem from!! Scotland is not just Glasgow, no flags mentioned religion!! YOU my friend seem to be the one with the problem here!!

Considering it was Glasgow who stopped the Rags getting their victory parade round Manchester, I think they deserve their flag.

I thought it was fairly obvious the bolded bit was the case. But then again I've never been particularly perceptive or observant.

Does displaying a flag of your nation, without any reference to religion mean that you are one of those fans with an agenda? You appear to think so.
