Scottish flags at COMS...

I don't see the problem. A Glasgow resident bring a Scottish flag, fair enough.

If it was a Glasgow resident bringing a Union Jack, it might of been a different situation, tinged with sectarianism so to speak.

anyone who wants to come and support city, should be made welcome, whatever flag they have.after all were the world famous club now.

My Dad was born in Glasgow moved to Manchester ,supporters City whats wrong with that.We are not a national front club,to all the scottish blues, ignore that stupid ignorant post please.

People can display what they want as long as it is in line with the law and the club's wishes.

What I don't get though, and it's a personal view, is why many are so desperate to inform everyone where they come from.

It baffles me why people take along a St George's cross with 'Levenshulme' or whatever on it but I understand it even less when people go to a football ground in another country and want to tell everyone that 'I am here and here is the flag of my nation' as if their presence is something that needs to be broadcast to everyonen and celebrated.

It's a bit arrogant imo. I couldn't care less that someone is from X, Y, or Z and I'm sure they couldn't give a shit about where I come from.

sorry thicko i think you are bang out of order with your comments i take it you only go to the odd game now and again because that glasgow flag has been flown many times at the coms. I have been following city for over forty years and our branch bring a Northern Ireland flag and banners to the games we go to and am proud of it. I think you are being the bigot and have made a right **** of yourself with this thread. I have met the boys who bring that flag and follow city and i'm sure between us we have spent far more money doing so than you will ever do. I'm sure if you ask around fellow blues that those scots blue and anybody from Northern Ireland who meet up in the city social or mary d's that we are very welcome. I think you have made a complete fool of yourself on this wind you neck in and admit you are wrong.

I brought a Welsh flag along to CCOMS eariler this season and waved it for Ched Evans shouting his name to catch his attention. Most folf around me found it amusng but I didn't get any flack.

There used to be a bloke who brough a Red Dragon regularly to County matches and I was pleased to spot a fellow countryman. No big deal. Relax.

I presume the connection the OP was trying to make is the point highlighted below in relation to the antics of a small minority at the Celtic game, brought to our attention by waterfootblues, and the Scottish flags in evidence yesterday. I agree with the bolded point made by waterfootblues, but obviously have no idea as to whether those who displayed said flags yesterday are the same group as waterfootblues makes reference to at Celtic Park.

I was at the Celtic match and when I got in the atmoshere between the two sets of fans was friendly and there was good banter between the fans. Now I am a Manc who lives in Glasgow and my wife is a Glaswegian.

Three guys turned up and unfurled the Glasgow Man City Saltire. I thought this was amazing and joined in with them holding the flag. It soon became apparrent though that these guys had an agenda and it was more to do with hatred towards the Celtic, Catholics and the Irish and some of the sectarian abuse they were singing and trying to get others to join in with was a disgrace.

I loved the Glasgow Man City flag but not the biggots who own that flag. They are a cancer in Scottish football and their extreme views are not welcome at our fantastic football club.

My only team is Man City and I dont bother with Celtic or Rangers and I have no agenda.

The more flags at COMS the better, just leave all the sectarian behaviour behind.

I have made contact with a few blues while I have been up here and some of them are trying to get a Man City supporters club up and running (no supporters club in Glasgow) to cover the West Coast.

it had GLASGOW MAN CITY written on it, why is there a problem with that?
agreed with this reply, better get used to it as in a while there will be a lot of different flags around.
