Scottish independence

Bottom line was the Jocks know where their bread is buttered and they voted to maintain the Status Quo because that guaranteed that they could continue to be bailed out by us south of the border.

I hope Westminster now tells Scotland that the next time they want a referendum that the the whole cost of it must be Bourne by the Scottish people and not by the UK in general.

It is now time to stop pampering minorities and put the majority IE. England first. We have been forced to take a back seat for way too long.

The Labour party are the worst offenders for this they seem to have forgotten that the vast majority of their supporters live in England but they seem to pay way too much lip service to a couple of million Jocks. Scotland makes up less than 10% of the population of the UK and it is about time they recognised that.

If they don't act quickly they run the risk of disenfranchising their core support and regional devolution is not the answer. However An English Parliament is.

A good post.
The tail can no longer wag the dog. Dave has already stated this in no uncertain terms.

Labour have to lick the arse of the jock MP's as they need the 41 seats to have any chance whatsoever of regaining power - so they will continue to do so
and they don't give a toss if you any other English voter likes it or not. Thats why there is no chance whatsover of Labour even discussing an English Parliment any time soon. The only way forward from now are the Tories. It may stick in the throat of a few on here but Labour will not be acting in your best interest on this matter, they will be acting in their own best interest.

I think u will find the majority of England supports the Tories .
I don't like the Tories and never will .
I will admit though Cameron done a very good job in stitching Salmond up .

Because the Tories would never seek to put themselves first would they? Why, I can just imagine the 1922 committee, for it is they, having a hearty debate about how they should no longer put the interests of the aristocracy, big buck business and the shires first but, in a vault-face not seen since Boris decided he could run two jobs, they work towards the common good, poor and rich alike, where the great industrial cities are treated with equanimity and respect.

As for Dave stating things "in no uncertain terms", well, we can all sleep well, such is his standing amongst the political elite. I'm sure Merkel is right this very second retuning her TV to ensure she hears more from this master of oratory, this colossus of the political world.

True - there is no argument with that. I'd include Clegg too. We live in impoverished times, politically. Merkel certainly isn't someone whose policies I'd advocate, but she has a presence, a gravitas none of our current politicians can match. perhaps it's symptomatic of the age we live in, where strong views are akin to political suicide and taking the middle road in all you do is the preferred option. I absolutely detest/ed Thatcher but nobody could ever argue she wasn't a political behemoth. Callaghan, Heath, Wilson less so, but I'd listen to any of them over this lot. All day long.

Nice to see we both agree on something! ;-)

Here is the Category's who Voted and where they posted. For me not surprised that 70% of 16-17 yr olds voted Yes.
