On the subject of petit dejeuner - I remember after complaining my specified 2½ minute boiled egg was served stone hard and cold in France they popped it back in hot water for 5 minutes. No concept of civilized behaviour.

No one eats boiled eggs. Lightly poached on a toasted bagel. Scrambled with croissants. But never boiled.
