Scottish Independence

It may be. You didn't mention the alternative ;-)

Well the alternative is to vote for a left wing party, that promises further devolution, if you don’t like the Tories or the whole British establishment.

There’s a fella, can’t seem to recall his name, North London based, doesn’t like Tories either or the British establishment, wants to offer another Brexit vote and politically speaking aligns with Scotland’s leftism, nah the name has escaped me.

Labour are finished in Scotland.

It's why they wont win a GE in a long time.

Geezo, you are beginning to sound like the 'inconvenient truths' guy, with your loop ukip comparisons.

Absolutely boggles my mind that you won't even contemplate for a second (or read what some have pointed out on both threads) that there is a lot more to it. Ah well.

What is there to it?

They’re UKIP just on the centre left.

One main policy, that comes before all others, useless at actual policies and hyperbolic at every opportunity, standing on a platform of nationalism.

It is an inconvenient truth. Nationalist Parties are cunts, I’m sorry but that’s it.

They are but only because they’re hell bent on Sturgeon’s nationalist mob.

Not sure that's right mate and dont for a second think that all SNP voters are in favour of independence either as they are not.

I know many who vote for them because they are left of centre but didn't vote for independence and wouldn't now.

The SNP leadership and their MP's in Westminster with chips on each shoulder dont speak for a majority living up here.

Yes.

Yes.

Mm, not quite.

We had a Scottish Independence referendum and a campaign that went with it and there were disgraceful lies told then.

A Scottish no voter also told me of the toxic atmosphere and the fact that if/when it happens again, he fears there will be violence, if the no vote don’t go completely anonymous.
Like you I can only rely on anecdotal evidence in my case a mate (English) who lives up there and that's not the vibe I get and he is not a fan of the SNP. Personally I'd trust the judgement of Scottish based posters no offence.

Think that should be plural. No side came out of that smelling of roses.

There’s also absolutely no detail at all, at all, on currency, central governing bank,

uhum, tbh i guess that one might hurt the UK more.

The thing is, when other member states adopted the Euro it boiled down to shutting down their own central bank in favor of the ECB . Sure, we still have country specific money but it's all regulated from the ECB. Scotland doesn't have a central bank but rather uses the pound. It goes so far then that one could entertain the idea of Scots voluntarily switching their currency to Euro, simply get more Euro's from the Eurozone and replace the pound with them for daily opperations even ahead of joining the EU. There is nothing against any country using the currency of another and foreign currency obviously travels a lot too so you have places for example outside the US/EU where the dollar or EU are very commonly used especialy if the local currency and/or central bank is rather shit.

The downside for the Uk i guess is that a lot of people could be cashing out of the pound, at which point the UK might be kinda forced to payout with gold?
