Scottish Independence

I live in Scotland and no doubt will till the day I die.

My twins have been here since they where 3 months old and are 8 now and see themselves as Scottish.

I voted for the UK to leave the EU and not for English independence or out of some nationalist thoughts.

Would you stay if there was another Indyref and "yes" won??

After Brexit I might add

Yes. Our businesses are here and the wife and kids love the place.

I do too is truth be told its just those few SNP folk that take things too far that fuck me off but they are few and far between and its a great place to live and work.

The Scots wouldn't vote to leave us English under perpetual Tory rule would you?

Wouldn't blame you for all the shit you've have to put up with.

That's nice to hear. At least you will get a vote on your future. One which will actually mean something and count.

To be fair, you probably are in the place that has it most extreme with the SNP lot, and attitudes. As D&G is such an established tory stronghold, the effort to get them out is far more forced there than elsewhere, from what i have seen, and people take it a bit far, more so than in other parts of the country. Shetland maybe being the other 'strongly contested' one.

Not entirely sure as it’s an uncomfortable conversation to have with some, and you can never be quite sure what effect Brexit will play. If the sky doesn’t fall on leaving one Union, it might ironically make people better prepared to countenance leaving the other. Suffice it to say, I’ve only met people on one side of the equation who have changed their minds.

And which side is that, if i may? Only interested, as I'm curious if there is a consistency with what i've been noticing.

Thanks. it is indeed what i have been seeing.

An interesting change is in the number of 'European' families (both partners from other EU states, single persons from EU states, persons from EU states with UK partners ) who all voted No last time because they foresaw a potential threat to their situation in society. Now, however, they see perceive a greater threat to their situation should Scotland be dragged out of the EU. It is particularly troublesome for those English people who have EU partners. Not an enormous number of people, granted, but a snapshot of how opinions can quickly change.

Did they get a vote the last time? i don't think they did.
