Scottish Independence

Interesting. Big claim that.

I've always been a sceptic and argued, and still do, that i think the chance of it happening is low. But even i wouldnt argue your claim, certainty wouldnt bet against it.

I keep saying, i don't think there has been a significant enough shift towards independence. But there certainly has been a shift. In 5 years time, who can tell. in the ladt 5 years, ive only experienced it shifting in the one direction.
Another 5 years of divergent political fundamentals will do it. Btw, I’m not a snp supporter.

Said it before on here and I’ve had the view since the 80-90’s that Scotland would be an independent country outside the UK before Ireland would be re-United.
Still think that, but don see it happening anytime soon.
Brexit and how it is handled internally within Britain over the next number of years will be crucial, but I’m not convinced Scotland would vote to leave in this uncertainty.

In for a penny in for a bawbee..

(caveat, i don't actually mean/think that, just seemed an appropriate joke to make.
Quite chuffed with it too, on a couple levels, if i dare chuckle so myself)

Not a certainty for sure. Johnson won’t be able to help himself though. Will pick a fight with Sturgeon and in doing so with the entire Scottish nation.

Not well up on this at all, but didn't the Spanish say they would veto an Independent Scotland joining the EU? Have things changed?

That was to support the UK as an EU member state. Things have moved on a bit since then :)

Cheers, but I thought the Spanish were worried about Catalonian Independence and didn't want to set a precedent?

If that's the case has anything changed?
Yes Scotland would be non member applying to become a member.not an asking to separate from another member and still remain a member. So a different situation now to that of Catalan.

Have the EU come out and said this? Could probably tip the balance if they did, and the EU get the fish.
