Scottish referees to strike next weekend ( no City content )

sorry if posted already - Celtic really are the lowest of the low !

Celtic are known to welcome the strike, hoping it may lead to an investigation by Uefa into refereeing standards.

The strike would threaten the weekend's Scottish Premier League fixtures.

Former referee Kenny Clark told BBC Scotland on Monday morning that he believed comments made last week by Celtic chairman John Reid, where he described ref Dougie McDonald's position as "completely untenable", were the final straw.

McDonald ex hibby season ticket holder has shafted Hearts for years and got away with it.His decision to award Hibs a penalty last season was a joke.Admitting he lied as well in the recent Dundee Utd match does make his position untenable. So sadly i agree with Reid.Hugh Dallas email stupidity if true makes his position untenable as well.Never liked Dallas as well,he was involved in the Davis gate affair when Rangers got a penalty against Hearts, another one of those what was that a penalty for when you play the old firm.

Been following this debacle with interest.Scottish National Party MP Peter Wishart has called for all referees in Scotland to be forced to reveal their allegiance to a particular team, a suggestion backed by Celtic chairman John Reid.

Do they have anything like that in the English Premiership.
It will be interesting to see what happens with foreign refs this weekend.Love to see one crossing himself before the Rangers game.

I believe Eleven of 20 Scottish fixtures will go ahead this weekend despite the planned strike by category one referees.Apparently SFA has managed to recruit three sets of officials from Poland, while the Israeli FA has confirmed that they are sending officials.

Really pissed off about this. Celtic (and a few other SPL clubs) have pretty much started this whole thing, but as usual, it is the smaller clubs who end up with there games cancelled, losing much needed revenue. Supposed to be going to see Dunfermline play Cowdenbeath, an all ticket local derby, but now a lot of people are having to change plans, with lots of fans already looking to claim refunds as they cant make a mid week game.

Our chairman has been on radio tonight and has been the first person related to another club who has openly come out and criticised Celtic for this whole thing. Quite right. Everyone else seems scared to say anything bad against them in the media. Cant wait to see what the west coast backlash is. Think we've already been labelled 'Hunfermline' tonight. I really, really hope they get a shit Isreali ref who awards 3 penaltys against them. Who will they complain to then?
