Shabby.
This looks like an automated message. It's probably too late now but I would have recommended that you called the club to explain you weren't in a position to pay this final installment rather than do nothing and allowing your SC to be cancelled. They might not have offered anything different but at least then you would know they don't give shit. If they want to rub salt in the wounds they could flag your failure to pay on your credit record and this can create lots of problems.
The general advice in these types of situations is never to either cancel a direct debit or not to have funds in place to make payment. You should talk to the creditor organisation to see what they can do for you.
I rang them to explain my own situation. They admitted their hands were tied about collecting the money and seemed more concerned with emphasising I would lose my ticket.
That’s a standard response when the club tries to take payment but your card has expired. It’s happened to me before, mid season, and it’s a quick call to the club to update the records with your new card details. Give them a call to sort.
That would indicate that they don't give a shit but they will consider it a success in your case as you paid up. What do you think they would have done if you said that you just didn't have the funds to pay?
Don't tell them your name Pike!!!I pretty much said I had no money coming in and my business had gone under.
The girl seemed very sympathetic but reiterated if I cancelled, I would lose the card entitlement.
I also rang BT sport to cancel and they warned it would cost me £160 to exit the contract, having told them out of work. Froze next two months and I will bin it when I can next afford to, as I have IPTV now.
Again, the person on the other end of the line was sympathetic but they are call centre workers and working within the constraints of their own employers.
I am keeping a list of names when this is all over.
I don't think you'll be alone.
When the Arsenal game was called off I thought we (the fans) would be attending games in August at the latest.
To be honest I can't see grounds being opened until December/New Year.
Clubs need to be careful that they don't take season ticket holders for granted, because with so much time on their hands people are revaluating their priorities.
I'm pencilling in tomorrow's game (Burnley) for the same weekend next year. Saves all the Liverpool howls if we just suspend this season for 12 months.....
If by the autumn things are looking up, we could find a new sponsor for a special interim competition. The Abu Dhabi Stuff You Cup.
They would have to send out the renewal info first but IF that did happen which I very much doubt, they would have to be 100% certain of a start date for the season where mass attendance would have to be guaranteed which won’t happen so it’s wait and seeWhen July 1st arrives will they be taking the first monthly payment for 20/21, whilst arguing that their hands are tied until they know for certain what's happening?
That started as a glib post, but the more I think about it,,,,,,,,
