Season Ticket Renewals - small increases (again)

When will people understand that we are a commercial enterprise

PEOPLE KNOW ALL ABOUT THE COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE OF US, and no doubt we would of got a few more million from our commercial partners with winning league and cup as a bonus, but again why put season tickets up, and of course the match day tickets will go up and all for a few more £s

But we won’t sign Mbappe. We have a wage structure. PSG don’t.

And if we did waned to sign Mbappe, and we didn’t have a wage structure, the season ticket rise wouldn't be pegged at 3%, it would be much higher.

We’ve signed Sergio, Kev, Raheem, Dave, Bernardo, La Porte, Emerson, etc, but City fans are still unhappy with these constant season ticket price rises.

£800k a season does not go towards signing one of those players. What does it go to? The club have never explained that.

As for FFP, we have cut out cloth accordingly since the fine. The £800k from the season ticket price increase has nothing to do with FFP. I wish people would stop linking those 2.
Correct!

Maybe goes towards paying for needless things like the hundreds of matchday presenters (why the fuck are there so many of them?), paying for the cheesy displays and on-pitch pyrotechnics (football clubs should always leave those sort of things to the fans, when a club does it it’s cheesy/forced/shit!), paying for those people who welcome you to the stadium (“hi, have a nice day” - what the fuck is that all about?), paying for the silly seasoncard tins and tat they put in them, paying for those wands and the wand wavers that do absolutely nothing but slow down entrance to the stadium?..

They certainly don’t use it to clean up the stadium after games as the same bits of rubbish, chewing gum stuck to seats and spilt drinks that are sticky on seats are still there from previous games.

Jaysus, where do you sit?

On the bench?

; )

Because in the grand scheme of things £800k makes little or no difference to the club, compared to what it means to the fans. Financially and on princiapl.

As I keep on pointing out, if City had frozen season ticket prices, especially after such an expensive season for City fans, it would have been a great gesture by the club, and would have rounded off a fantastic season.

Once again, fans will be looking for cheaper seats, and dropping cup schemes, platinum, etc, because of another price rise

Wouldn't it have been great after *11 consecutive season ticket price rises*, that the club would have at least frozen season ticket prices for next season. (not reduced them)

There are numerous ways City could have saved or found £800k over a season on other things at the club. Things that the fans aren"t arsed about. Things that are less important than another season ticket price rise.

Here's one for you. City used to employ Girls to hand out flags from the wheelie bins at the back of the South Stand. That's right, to hand out flags. City don't do that anymore. That's just 1 example of money being wasted on things that didn't need money wasting on.

I fully appreciate the club has to drive revenue. But there are plenty of other ways the club could have found or saved £800k next season, instead of increasing season ticket prices once again.

Let's see if City raise season ticket prices again in 2020/21.
Indeed!

Because there is a demand - quite simple

We get talk that money is not an issue but we don't make very much profit do we? Every single year someone says it is only an extra £800,000 or whatever. I can't be bothered looking at how much it really is (match day revenue will be shown in the accounts for those that are interested) but without the cumulative increases over the past 10 years that would imply £8,000,000 less income this year. I think it is very important when you are running a business to increase prices by a small amount each year. A year missed is a year lost. Of course, some argue that costs could be cut instead and that is possibly a different valid argument. Anyway, having seen that there are only 100 pages of comments my conclusion is that the reaction has been very low key this year.

Why do you vehemently believe the club should reward the fans on principal?

Ticket price rises probably won't cover the increased cost of stewarding, security etc.
