Season Ticket Renewals - small increases (again)

It takes a special sort of arrogance and/or complete lack of self awareness to type those sentences out, never mind to hit post.

I won't look to you for financial advice, if you dont mind.

Aww but you should mate.

I could help you budget for some new knickers because the ones you’re wearing are clearly a bit too tight.

Clearly the club don't want locals with no cash, having a beer in a pub and something to eat outside the ground, turning up and not spending any money. They want Jonny fan boy from Essex spending his wonga on plastic football tops, Amstel piss and nuked pies, served up by minimum wage kids.
Why worry about fans dropping platinum (which was always a fuckin joke, but there we are) or not joining cup schemes, when Jonny and his mates will have your seat, or sell them to Liverpool or Spuds fans if you cannot afford it.
If anybody thinks the club gives a toss about local people they are being delusional, it's all about 'maximising their investment' and gradually increasing prices to a level where local people will simply be replaced by Jonny come lately.
Yes the football on display is light years away from Stuart Pearce wank, but the heart and sole of the club is being pushed out, most likely by marketing wankers who know nothing about City or Manchester.

Where are all these Jonny Come Latelys from Essex hiding?

Do they only feel the need to get involved when the prices are expensive?

I have a question for those complaining about the prices increase: In the last 11 years Sheikh Mansour has invested over 1 billion of his own money in MCFC, and he's still investing millions every year via Etihad, Aabar, Etilasat and Abu Dhabi Tourism.
He is also one of the few sport club owners to reinvest back all of the club's profit.
So, do you guys really think City raised the price just because "they want to explore the working class"?

Just to remember, one of City's problems with FFP is that UEFA considers the value of City's sponsors to be very high compared to other incomes. Of Europe's top clubs, City's matchday income is the lowest when compared to commercial income. Although the club is billionaire, they need fans' money to justify such high sponsorships, be more 'self-sustaining', and to balance their books.

Here is a PL comparison (2017/18):

ARSENAL
Matchday income: £99m (59k attendance; £1,668 per supporter)
Commercial income: £107m
CHELSEA
Matchday income: £74m (41k attendance; £1,792 per supporter)
Commercial: £170m
LIVERPOOL
Matchday income: £81m (53k attendance; £1,526 per supporter)
Commercial: £154m
MANCHESTER CITY
Matchday income: £57m (54k attendance; £1,059 per supporter)
Commercial: £232m
MANCHESTER UNITED
Matchday income: £110m (74k attendance; £1,467 per supporter)
Commercial: £276m
TOTTENHAM
Matchday income: £71m (67k attendance; £1,044 per supporter)
Commercial: £109m

+£1m or £2m a season seems a little but sends the message that the club is growing with the help of fans. City is fighting against a Cartel, so the club have to play their game (and hopefully win it).
I believe the season card will continue to get more expensive while FFP is a problem. When that is over, the club will probably freeze the price or even decrease it. (that's my view)

You won’t get many takers mate.

They won’t like the truth and will be too busy having a go at the hordes of non-existent rich boys from Essex who are stealing the working class man’s right to never be asked to pay for a Seasoncard.

I can see why the club does it, among the top clubs City are still one of the cheapest(I think) but to want us to be a big club without big club prices is not realistic.

This is what journos should be focusing on though clubs like Arsenal and the other London clubs "inflating" the market with their ticket prices by normalising extortion. The journos not only don't care about the soul of football(which is working class lets have it right) being ripped out but they champion Spurs aiming to fleece what was it? "£1m" before kickoff from less that 60k fans... brilliant eh that's what the games about is it?

I remember back in the day going to aways on the official Fingland's coaches with Helen the bell RIP ruling the roost. Back then we didn't have a massive following so it was all about looking after your own. My abiding memory of Helen was how she would give her last 50p to get a lad who was short of cash into the game. This was from a lady who sold flowers for a living outside the MRI. Now that was part of the reason that I began to love City. This is where we have come from and we cannot let those less fortunate fall behind.

You should follow suit if you feel this way mate.

Rock up outside the ground and give a little Helen-esque hand out to those in need. Keep the dream alive for those on the verge of tipping point.

There are two seats on my row which are only occupied for half the matches
Block 104
Row W
Seats 78 & 79
Ask about these

And there's one on row V in front which is nearly always unoccupied. That'll be either 77 or 78

Anyone know whatever happened to the history listings in your account when they revamped the still shite ticket website? According to it now I’ve only had a seasoncard for 2 seasons?

I understand why the club put it up. If it’s only a million a year it makes an extra 6 million over 3, 10 over 4 and 15 over 5.

The quality of the football is second to none so I don’t begrudge it.

Others it can be can’t over won’t and the extra money be it 10-20 can be considered small but is a fair increase over the last 5 years.

Hope fans don’t get priced out of this.
If everyone thought like this we'd still be sticking children up chimneys.

They are on Level 2, sat in their padded seats. The City fans that used to be on level 2 sat on plastic seats have been priced out, and have been forced to move to other cheaper plastic seats around the ground.

A similar situation for those pesky City fans who were sat in the way of the Tunnel Club, before they got turfed out as well by the club. Not to mention City fans who were sat in the seats now occupied by 93:20, Joes, or whatever it’s named, etc.

But I shouldn’t complain. After all City have just done the quadruple. And it’s only another £20 increase on my season ticket. The 11th increase in 12 season’s. I’m already resigned to another £20 increase the season after next. Pep best bloody win the CL by then. ;-)
