Season Ticket Renewals - small increases (again)

Did they factor in the Mangala implication, via season ticket price rises from 2014?

———————

ELIAQUIM MANGALA is set to end his Manchester City misery by returning to Porto.(the Sun, so it’s probably a load of shite)

The French international defender, 28, cost City £32million from the Portuguese giants back in 2014.

And you think £800,000 makes a difference to City}

Please!

Honestly. The money City have pissed up the wall is unbelievable. Yet they still mange to scrape £800k from the fans via unnecessary season tickets price rises every season.

And people/fans like you will always find a reason and an excused to justify the continual season ticket price rises that bring in less than a £1,000,000 pound a season.

You seriously think the club don't factor in all costs?

I am sorry but you just don't get that it is a business decision, made by business people who have access to all the data and I'm fairly sure they don't make such decisions without weighing up the pros and cons.

Throwing the signing of Mangala into it is a bit desperate, We've made plenty of bad signings over the years, as has every club.

Correct.
Probably a disliked response coming up but with FFP and a brilliant team on the pitch, someone has to contribute to it. The bottomless pit of money that has been mentioned by a few on here is irrelevant. Should we sign mbappe in the summer few would be complaining about a 3% increase. A successful team incurs massive bonuses that need to be funded within the constraints of FFP. Potentially, had we won fuck all last season there would probably be a freeze on prices for next season. Re-signing players contracts like aguero and Silva on less per week would have been stacked with massive bonuses based on trophies etc so by default those costs will have majorly increased.
Anyway, I'll shut the fuck up. My beloved club well and truly fucked me over in the 2003/4 season, and the season after so my season ticket after 20 odd years was well and truly shoved back up the club's arse!

But we won’t sign Mbappe. We have a wage structure. PSG don’t.

And if we did waned to sign Mbappe, and we didn’t have a wage structure, the season ticket rise wouldn't be pegged at 3%, it would be much higher.

We’ve signed Sergio, Kev, Raheem, Dave, Bernardo, La Porte, Emerson, etc, but City fans are still unhappy with these constant season ticket price rises.

£800k a season does not go towards signing one of those players. What does it go to? The club have never explained that.

As for FFP, we have cut out cloth accordingly since the fine. The £800k from the season ticket price increase has nothing to do with FFP. I wish people would stop linking those 2.

Of course it goes towards signing and paying those players, just as sponsorships, prize money, TV revenue and the rest do. Ticket sales may be a smaller part of the pie than it used to be but it still is a part of it and it all counts.

You tell me what the 800K is for.

What springs to mind?

Admin? Security? Flag wavers? The matchday experience? Season ticket tins? Face painters? Musicians outside the stadium?. Ping pong outside the stadiums. Volleyball outside the Stadium. That part who ruined the parade? Etc.

I used Mangala as an example of the club wasting 10’s of millions, even though City have staff who are supposedly experts in scouting players. The comparison is with £32mill wasted, plus wages, etc, compared to £5mill gained through season ticket price rises since 2014.

Saying we made plenty of bad signings is correct. And shows once again how much money we have wasted through poor decisions on and off the pitch.

Thank you!

It all adds up. However small the rise, it all goes into the same pot paying our expenses. Better small gradual rises than one huge one IMO.

Every club makes bad buys. We've made more good decisions than bad in the transfer market and reaped the rewards from them.

No it doesn’t. Stop it!

£800k from a 3% season ticket price rise does not go to signing a £60mill player.

£160mill from winning the PL, CL money. TV money Sponsorship deals, Kit deals, etc, does.

It all goes towards it. Some more than than others (as I said) but they are all a part of it.

Once again. As many City fans on here have posted. Including me.

They are dropping cup schemes, platinum, moving to cheaper seats, drinking and eating less in the stadium, etc, which added up, is probably costing City more than the annual season ticket price rise. Just me dropping the domestic Cup schemes had cost City much more than my £20 season ticket price rise.

We’re going around in circles. If you really think £800K is a deal breaker, then see above.

Yes, City have clawed in an extra £800k, but how much have they lost with fans opting out, due to another season ticket price increase.

We’ll never know, will we.

Not bailing out, but I’m up at 3.15am in the Morning due to work. Night. :-)

You seriously don't think experienced, professional business people haven't considered that? You don't think they have studied the data from past increases (or a freeze one year) to see how it has affected sales of other products they offer?
