Season Ticket Renewals - small increases (again)

Same happened to us.
We were offered the first row in 127, told them to stick it.
So we can have one day extra for relocation? That’s generous of them. What if we happen to be working all day on that one day.

@Macca68

Hi guys, i was in the same situation as you pair and was kicked out of 126 and moved into 93.20 for 2 years freeze. I actually jumped out last summer as i knew that 12 months later (today) i would be looking down the barrel of a pair of $3k STs for frankly a padded seats and free programme. 93.20 really is crap.

Anyway, we were entitled to a special reallocation day last year for the 100 or so of us that got moved. I missed this and ended up spending 6 hours on the phone a day later but got sorted anyway. I got quite lucky and ended up with decent seats in 104. But my ticket has went from 725 in 126 16/17 and will now be 820 in 104 19/20. Beats 1500 in 209.

My point is though that use should def be entitled to a special window of reallocation. 12th of june or so i say? Ring city and make sure they keep their promise that you get first dabs on reallocation. Dont drop this and good luck with the reallocation.

Cheers for the info.
We were never informed of the ‘special’ relocation window last year and haven’t been told of one this year.
However City have now contacted me following my letter, of three weeks ago, to offer me seats elsewhere in the ground.
Just need to find out if my daughter wants to move or pay a fortune for 93:20

Thought they already did this?

SUPERBIA?
There is. However it is only open to the top 1000 season card holders with massive points and even then it’s by invitation only. I think it is only a matter of time they intoduce one year specials, if the price is right ..for them.

Thanks for the reply @UUJblue.

The email that I received yesterday confirms that we can relocate by phone or online on Thursday 13th June so will hopefully find something then.

@mosssideblue
Yes, it’s a lesson they need to learn that football fans are the sport, there is a culture in society of going to the game with your mates. Fans are emotionally invested in their teams and that invested loyalty shouldn’t be creamed by clubs just to earn extra bits of money here and there, that they do not need, or will lose out in other areas as people will cut spending from different areas of the club anyway.

It’s not like I’m a Boots fan and they’re trying to maximise profits because I buy deodorant or athelete’s foot spray for the athlete’s foot societal culture all the time. If they put prices up I’ll go to Bodycare instead but it’s not like I’m going to start supporting Altrincham because City get too expensive.

Football clubs need teaching this lesson. If everyone in Platinum came off it and went down to Gold the club would lose more than they make with the increases so it might make them think twice about it in future. People are coming out of Cup Schemes left right and centre and our 45000 average CL attendance as opposed to our 54000 average PL attendance shows that we will not be just suckered into just giving our money away to the club all the time.

If they don’t understand that all the accumulative costs are the reasons why we didn't sell out a number of away games this season or didn’t get a bigger crowd against Burton or sell out the semi at Wembley or will only take about half as many fans to the Community Shield as Liverpool will then they are stupid. If everything was a bit cheaper City we would sell out a 65000 stadium for every single game, none of these crowds around the 40000 mark for CL games, and there would never be a Wembley trip that didn’t sell out.

We get more people going to early round FA Cup games than we do CL games! Why is that? It’s because our general support can afford those cheaper cup games on top of seasoncard money every month but not the more expensive CL games. Other sets of fans are puzzled at how we can get 52000 against Rotherham but only 40000 against Lyon. But I’m not. It’s because they keep creaming money off us all the time so we’ll just go for the cheaper options.

The board members at City can’t sit there on CL nights and think “ahh, look at all these empty and unsold seats, this is brilliant for our profits and image!”

But they must be fucking stupid if they don’t know the reason why it happens all the time. People are talking with their wallets. They are saying “I’m already paying £84.50 a month for my seasoncard so fucking stuff your Champions League up your arse! I’ll wait for the £15 FA Cup game in January”

The club need to understand its audience, not try and find new fans that don’t exist at a higher price.

Im sorry mate, you are one of those naive idealists who think we are still back in the dark ages when league football was a working mans game.

Time and tide wait for no man and the game has moved on significantly for the better and it is where it is today because of the commercial backing it has had. You are dreaming if you think today, ours or any other club has loyalty to its fans.

Im truly sorry for those that genuinely can no longer afford a ST, but be in no doubt, there are queues waiting to sign up and as long as the PL has the global acknowledgement it has, nothing will likely change.

As my comments were against ST increases, I will leave the rest of your rant for others to discuss

I implore everyone to ditch Platinum and move down to Gold.

If we all did it, nobody would lose out in points against others.

Teach the club a lesson!

They really don’t need this extra £1m they cream off seasoncard holders every year. They’re stupid enough to keep doing it though so we should just all come out of Platinum and make their stupidity mean something.

Platinum was a flawed idea to generate extra income at a particular point in time under different circumstances and people. It also provided a few benefits in addition to the extra so called `loyalty` points which were, in effect, being bought. The consequences were not considered let alone thought through. The club has made some great decisions and huge strides but I believe this is one they realise that they got wrong. I eventually changed to Gold a few years ago. If everyone now buys Gold only, there will not be a differentiation between supporters ticket points as they currently stand. No fan will gain and no fan will loose out. But, it is probably too late now as decisions will have been taken by individuals. Next season though will be the chance for this to happen in an organised way.

Wasn't 13000 mentioned when the city matters rep used to keep us informed?

Could be. That’s £650k. Whilst it’s a drop in the ocean in terms of overall turnover it’s not an insignificant amount of cash. If they dropped this I think ST prices would have been another £15 higher to compensate

They are on Level 2, sat in their padded seats. The City fans that used to be on level 2 sat on plastic seats have been priced out, and have been forced to move to other cheaper plastic seats around the ground.

A similar situation for those pesky City fans who were sat in the way of the Tunnel Club, before they got turfed out as well by the club. Not to mention City fans who were sat in the seats now occupied by 93:20, Joes, or whatever it’s named, etc.

But I shouldn’t complain. After all City have just done the quadruple. And it’s only another £20 increase on my season ticket. The 11th increase in 12 season’s. I’m already resigned to another £20 increase the season after next. Pep best bloody win the CL by then. ;-)

Fair fucks mate. You gets what you pays for as the Yanks say.
