Season Tickets - 2023/24

Fine - but I don’t have to agree with you. I think the tickets are great value for the superb entertainment we get. You obviously disagree with me and that’s your prerogative but I object to a fans’ banner that is only demonstrating the feelings of an unknown percentage of fans - who (as you say) don’t give two fucks.

For the record, I have loved the last 10 years - after visiting Macclesfield, Stockport; watching Gillingham & having shit managers like Stuart Pearce.

I think the tickets are worth every penny - just to see KDB & Haaland.

You don’t have to agree with me but you do have to let me (& many others) have a different viewpoint
No course not. It’s good to debate and have differing opinions.

As I say, I’m okay and can afford it but it really grinds my gears when I see people saying they can’t afford it anymore. I know dozens of City fans who used to go but don’t anymore. Almost all of them are because of the prices and being unable to get the cheaper tickets as there are so few of them.

I work in a school and some of the kids there think it’s magical that I have a season ticket, there are two lads who to ask me to just show them the mobile ticket on my phone and they always give it ‘woah!’. Their parents can’t afford to take them unless it’s an early round FA Cup game (of which the tickets for next season have gone up 140% from £25 to £35!).

How would pep have any clue? We’ve never protested it, nor has there ever been any press reflecting the current sentiment. You think he has any clue what the feeling of the fans is beyond the support in the ground? He won’t be involved in decisions on season tickets etc and even if he saw it how is he supposed to understand whether it is a significant increase to fans or not
I don't think he was involved in setting the prices. He may not even know now. But he will. And he can choose to voice an opinion at that time. Or not.

I suspect he won't though. But if your perspective is that he doesn't know the position the fans are in then surely that's a reason to shut up about the fans and concentrate on speaking about things he does know.

You're normally a sound poster but on this thread you're coming across as a bit of a ****, pal.
Thank you BMR, respect to you and what you have done to promoting City, I think you know I'm a commie but the reality is, it's not allowed to work like that, for me it would be back to 2/6d at the old turnstiles but reality is, the country run by a bunch of capitalist gangsters, it is they that have increased prices, sadly City have had to pass them on to the customer, through no fault of their own.

I'm not going to fall out with anyone (will be my one and only comment), but ignoring the football we watch for a minute, I think the rise is pretty reasonable, and the biggest reason for that, is that City are a business.

Businesses (and individuals, as many are pointing out) are having to take on often huge price increases, so why should City (just like Tesco, or your local pub/restaurant) not pass it on the same ?

We all know that the costs of running any business over the last 12 months has gone up a lot more than the 5% (ish) City are asking. I would imagine that costs of contractors (staff and supplies) has gone up very significantly, not to mention energy price rises for both the club, and it's contractors.

If you want Cavier you have to pay for it.
But do we?

Not all season tickets have gone up £60 like mine, but let’s say they have just to make the number even higher than the club will actually earn.

40,000 season tickets with a £60 rise is £2.4m.

We could buy Jude Bellingham for £122.6m instead of £125m for the same difference. Christ we still must be in the clear money-wise from selling a £20m player in Ferran Torres for £55m. We could have frozen season ticket prices for fifteen years off the back of that sale!
