Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

No, that wasn’t my intended meaning. I meant they were ‘happy’ as in ‘prepared’ to admit on a public forum. Whereas there will be probably be others who will not want the attention of admitting it publicly.

Look mate, I’m not even saying I necessarily agree it. Let alone praising the decision.

My point was, I understand why the club are reacting to the changing habits of ST holders.

Understood. Deffo on me that one. My bad

My mate is an Arsenal season ticket holder - they have to attend 20/23 games (they get 4 cup matches a season thrown in for free) and have unlimited number of transfers to friends and family as long as they are a member.
Unlimited transfer to friends and family isn’t much use if you have to personally attend 20/23 games is it?

There are thousands who want a season card but can’t buy one. That is indisputable. If the club opened up the sale of season cards again, with no limits on them, we’d probably be able to sell 62k of them.

Agreed. But what's that got to do with the lad travelling or anyone else who can't do 10+ games in person

I've just been looking at Arsenal's ticket prices & arrangements.

Their season tickets include 4 European games, so cover 23 games rather than 19. They say they have to be used (attendance in person, transferred, or on their exchange) for 20 of those games. No requirement for minimum number of personal attendances.

They breakdown season tickets by category. They have 6 Cat A games, 12 Cat B and 5 Cat C, which they use to assign a price per seat, per category.

So their lowest-priced Adult ST is £1,073 and the Cat A games work out at £71.84 pro rats, the Cat B at £41.23 and the Cat C at £29.46. Im guessing these are the prices they'd refund you via the exchange.

But what absolutely astonished me was when I compared those numbers to their matchday prices. The equivalent full adult prices for each category are £74.30, £42.60 and £30.30. That's just coppers more than the pro-rata season ticket prices.

If an adult sold their ticket in 109 for the Villa game they'd get £43.84, but the ticket would go on sale for £73! That's 50% more than the pro-rata price.

Well if a season ticket seat is sat empty for more than half a season, in theory it is preventing someone else from using it as a season card.

It’s so bloody annoying mate. The club are taking us for absolute mugs. My good lady says fuck em we are keeping our seat no matter what. I’m more in the fuck em I can’t be arsed with this camp.

Seats aren’t sitting empty though. The vast majority transfer to friends and family or stick it on the exchange. I can understand why the club would take action against those that leave their seats empty but the vast majority don’t.

They could and likely do list it given the 14 game policy. Just because they personally don't attend doesn't mean it's empty.

In theory, yeah if new SC were being issued. But we've lost loads over the 6 years with none replaced so why do you think the club would offer new ones to replace 10 game offenders

Frightening

I think too many current season ticket holders pick and choose to attend the big games as the prices are relatively cheap and list the rest of the games.

The club should replace the 10 game offenders with season ticket holders from a waiting list based on members with the most loyalty points.

I don’t think anyone is arguing against at least retaining the current number of season card holders.

Yeah I think some do. And so what? Maybe when they retire or change jobs they'll attend all 19 themselves

Either way, they aren't stopping anyone doing anything other than the club not being able to mark up the seat

If someone is only attending say 6 games a season and listing the rest then surely that’s unfair when someone could replace them who would attend every game.

What are you not getting? There is no replacing them. That SC is not up for grabs once they take it off the 6 game a season guy

How long do they let you retain your season ticket if you decide to travel a little longer?

There’s thousands that want season tickets that can’t get hold of one.
I should be able to retain my season ticket and let family members/friends use it. If I’m gone for 2/3 years I’d agree but one season I won’t be able to personally attend 10 games and it’ll get removed. You say there’s thousands that want season tickets were gonna have a new stand soon let’s see how many ST become available then. My guess is 0

I understand that no one is replacing them.

I’m arguing that I don’t have a problem with the 10 game rule as long new season cards DO replace them.
