Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

If someone is only attending say 6 games a season and listing the rest then surely that’s unfair when someone could replace them who would attend every game.

We have a brand new stand to give new season tickets to supporters that want them (if the club cares about those supporters).

How often do those big games get moved to midweek ??, you can almost guarantee that those games are played on a Sunday at 4.30 which in turn makes it easier to plan travel around. It does go on but a lot less than people are making out & maligning the majority of seasoncard holders who are not happy with the 10 game personal attendance isn't helping the situation

My youngest has had a season ticket for the last 20 years plus..He's moving to Birmingham next month and due to work commitments for the next couple of seasons might not be able to attend 10 home games. He doesn't want to give up his season ticket because he won't be able to get another .

If it only affects a very small minority, and the club will have the data on this, which they should be transparent about (wishful thinking I know). Then what’s the problem with it. The club can handle the small minority on a case by case basis taking into account personal circumstances.

Birmingham is less than 2 hours away - 90 minutes on a train.

This what's wrong with the new draconian rule, there's no allowance for changing of circumstances

Apologies that I haven't been able to post earlier. The Club sending the communication out last thing on a Thursday before a Bank Holiday has meant that I'm trying to respond to this whilst away.

That said, I am glad that we now have full clarity on the vast majority of the Club's ticketing policy for next season. As some suspected, the staggered nature of announcements made it challenging to have a full and frank discussion.

I do think it is important to recognise the freeze on season ticket pricing, as well as the small number of Flexi Gold holders who will be able to become traditional season ticket holders. That's not because I think they cancel out the negatives but because there hasn't really been much of a positive in previous announcements. It's taken a huge effort from the various supporter groups, which is telling in and of itself.

Of course, with the Flexi Gold one there is a lot of nuance. As far as I know, the £150 fee will be retained and there still isn't a choice between Flexi Gold and a traditional season ticket - both of which we asked for all the way back in October. I would be very worried if this became the precedent of the only way to become a traditional season ticket holder.

With that out of the way, I'm not sure there's much more positive from a fan's perspective.

I would like to know what discussion there was round the 10 match attendance. For someone that drives hundreds of miles to get to a game, has to stay over in a hotel that is a very material change. When you consider midweek games, early kick offs and bad weather it will be touch and go if we can do ten. We have always used the exchange as we have nobody to pass the ticket to. Maybe next season will be it. @Alex - City Matters , can you shed any light on the rationale and wether this was accepted by CM or if it has just been introduced by the club?

The ten game policy might be alright in a vacuum. But football doesn't operate in a vacuum. It's real life and things legitimately get in the way. Let alone the fact that TV companies often dictate fixture changes to odd times and at short notice, as we have seen with both the Bournemouth and Aston Villa fixtures. @dannybcity made this point really eloquently to the Club. I also added that the Club's season ticket policy exacerbates this, as people know there is little chance of them getting one back should they decide to give it up.

The Club were pushed about legitimate exemptions to this policy, which they did recognise. That has to include pregnancy, caring responsibilities, disabilities, health conditions, emergencies, shift working, and more. With that in mind, I am very happy to raise individual cases directly with the relevant people at the Club. There has been a range of people in this thread with very understandable concerns, such as @Ric, @WNRH and @tolmie's hairdoo. Please do get in touch and I'll do my best.

I've already had a large number in touch, which shows how impractical the policy is and it will hopefully prompt a change in direction. That said, this has already caused an immense amount of distress, which is incredibly disappointing given that football is about enjoyment and an escape from the trials and tribulations of everyday life.

The (understandable) attention on the ten game policy has meant there has been less focus on the changes made to ticket transfer, and the decision to limit ticket exchange until 24 hours before the game. Given the Club have spoken about having every seat filled on every matchday there is a perverse sense of irony in adopting changes that make it more difficult to ensure your ticket is occupied.

I would also note that none of these changes to ticketing policy were discussed at the relevant City Matters sub-group. That is supposed to be the forum for detailed discussion about policy, rather than a five day window between the two meetings we had with the Club.

As I mentioned earlier, there has been a great amount of work across the various supporter groups and wider fanbase this season. The suite of announcements on ticketing policy show just how important it is that the momentum from this work is retained and strengthened in the weeks and months to come.

That is absolutely shocking but not surprising considering the lack of courtesy the club had over arranging a meeting. They know it wouldn’t go down well with either CM or the wider fanbase so just shove it out after freezing prices.

I suspect it’s a lot more than a very small minority, most of whom are meticulous in making their seat available when they can’t use it, which is a benefit to both club and fellow supporters rather than a problem

Exactly. We don’t have a core fan base like United or Liverpool a couple of seasons of me

i
Gone the uproar if they priced the last couple of games of last season £100+
Sorry that probably didn't come across right.
They need to have a realistic ceiling on prices - if it ain't selling they've got it wrong - and future games should take that into account.
If it actually means having to give people money back, or money off a future game, then suck it up. They've brought it on themselves selling every game at the start of the season

My biggest concern is the fact it disproportionately affect the more working-class & female fans than it will anyone else (shift workers, parents, NHS workers, forces, those acting as carers for others and plenty, plenty more) & any out of towners especially for mid-week matches.

Here’s the kick off-times we’ve had this season:-

Saturday 12:30pm - Crystal Palace

Saturday 3pm - Ipswich, Brentford, Fulham, Southampton, West Ham, Newcastle, Brighton

Saturday 5:30pm - Spurs

Sunday 4:30pm - Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Liverpool

Sunday 7pm - Bournemouth

Tuesday 8pm - Aston Villa

Wednesday 7:30pm - Nottingham Forest

Wednesday 7:45pm - Leicester

Thursday 12:30pm - Everton (Boxing Day)

Friday 8pm - Wolves

AND we’ve been fortunate enough to have a fair few Saturday 3pms this season compared to recent years. You can almost wave goodbye to Saturday 3pms if we end up in the Europa League & wave hello to considerably more Monday nights.

It would be fair enough if football was 3pm on a Saturday every week; it’s far from that nowadays. As someone who drives a 450 mile round trip every home game I’m concerned that if we don’t make the Champions League, I’ll be struggling to make ten games.

Supporting City just grows in stress every single day it feels like at the moment. The constant stressing about ticketing/prices/policies is sucking the enjoyment out of it all at the moment.

It doesn't affect a small minority though, we are no longer a fan base with a majority of local fans as seen by the many OSC around the country & the world. Many of those OSCs will have sc holders who have been City fans long before the current regime took over.

The club have very little interest in assisting seasoncard holders or legacy fans & are only interested in profit.

We had a system that wasn't abused by the majority of sc holders who couldn't make games, where they could transfer to another City fan. Now it's being limited to 3 people & I wouldn't be surprised if the ticket exchange is gone within the next 5 years.

Some weird shit goes on in the ivory towers and offices of City, it really must.

I’m currently fortunate in that a lot of these issues don’t affect me, and my son has already done Uni too so don’t have that problem either.

It really does rankle me though that the club can be so out of touch with the real world of what our supporter base faces on a day to day basis.

I might have missed it being mentioned, but has any Prem club actually got facial recognition as of yet?

Based on this season, 9 Saturday games and 1 Sunday game for the 10 matches in a season.

Is it possible he could buy a cheap phone just to put his season card on and one of his mates/family could use it then it wouldn’t have to be transferred so the club would be none the wiser.
