Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

I never realised we had so many ST holders who don’t / can’t get to 10 games a season.
Naive mate.

If a ST holder can’t make say half the games (games which he still has to pay for) but gives (or sells for face value) his ticket to another blue on his F&F list what on earth is the issue?

City have been paid
The seat is occupied
A blue who otherwise couldn’t have gone has gone.

Can’t get my nut round it.

Anyone know if the age at which you qualify for the old git discount will still be 65 this time? Asking for a very very close friend .
I’m 65 in July and because you start paying the direct debit before the season starts I was expecting to do battle with the ticket office, but was pleasantly surprised when I got to the renewal price that it was £440 for my seat in CB3! Finally made it after all these years.

My point was about the seemingly large number of ST holders not making half the games. I could understand missing a couple for various reasons, but missing half seems a lot.
It’s almost as if they want the benefit of cheap match tickets but can’t be arsed bothering with 50% of the games. Doubt they’re missing many derbies due to “other commitments “.

You could presume that, or you could also consider the many reasons stated in this thread that have nothing to do with cheap match tickets. Sickness, travel, study, caring responsibilities, childcare responsibilities.

Anyone that attends less than 10 games isn't saving money so the cheap ticket argument doesn't really wash.

Perhaps if City's match day tickets were more reasonably priced, available on a prior attendance (ticket points) basis, with scope for groups of family/friends to sit next to each other, and a clear pathway to reclaiming a season ticket in the future, more people struggling to make the magic ten would be more willing to give them up.
As it is City offer none of these things so people keep hold of them, and I don’t blame them.

I was 65 in February so qualify for cheaper season ticket for next season.
Had a look at the planner.Looks like i could move to a far more expensive area and still save over a hundred pounds.

I can’t speak for other blues but I can’t make a few due to my daughter’s football.

I don’t get to pick and choose which games I miss. If she has a game that clashes, she comes first, even if it’s the derby.

To say blues “can’t be arsed bothering” is an inappropriate conclusion you’re jumping to imo.

If they’re selling their ST on they’re saving money. No ST they’d have to individually purchase for all the games they can attend.

Fair points but I guess it comes to priorities. My lad plays under 17 football. If he has a fixture that clashes with City, he says he’s unavailable to play for his team. He’s just started part time job and if work commitments clash with City, I give his ticket away ( it’s on my phone so I guess City won’t know he himself hasn’t attended). He prioritises work at the moment as he’s only just started.
I think we disagree on this but I understand your perspective.

My daughter is at an academy mate she can’t just say oh I’m not coming on Saturday my dad’s got to go city so they don’t take his ST off him.

And then you get a game like Villa where the going rate is so exorbitantly no-one will buy.

Much easier ways to make a few quid and I don't see much difference between you scanning people in on your sons card and someone passing their ticket onto a mate, or family member or listing on the exchange.

Ah, yeah, if she’s at that level, definitely has to play. My lad is very much not at that level!
Since we moved to Etihad I’ve probably missed 7-10 home games, one I was on honeymoon, one my daughter in hospital, couple I was ill and 3 or 4 I was on holiday. I absolutely love going to the match, the whole day / evening, bevvying with mates, going to the game. Absolutely love it and it causes the odd domestic ruction as I’d never let anything prevent my attendance unless it was something ultra-serious.
I think the club rightfully expect ST to attend and that there has to be a certain acceptance of commitment on behalf of the ST holder. Where I fundamentally disagree with the club is that anyone who doesn’t attend the requisite number of games without a reasonable explanation- their ST is then not made available to others to purchase as a ST.

Answering your last point. I had to put the derby on the ticket exchange this season. First derby I've missed at home for over 30 years.
But according to you any season ticket holder sells united back to the club for face value but chooses to go to the "shit" games (of which there is no such thing, as I go to see city not the opposition) doesn't exist.

I'm currently in hospital with suspected viral meningitis. Hoping to be home next few days. I would like to still get to the wolves match. So I don't want to list it till last minute in case I can. In next years rules you can't list with less than 24 hours notice (and I have no friends and family to transfer to) so this is an example of when it would show as no attendance. With illnesses these can mount up.

This is the first time I've held a phone for days, a fever of 41 for 22 hours does that to you. And defending season ticket worries on bluemoon is what I end up doing. Got to go now.

I said that if you’re ill then that’s perfectly reasonable for not attending. And I think the club would and should accept that.

Your first paragraph references something I’ve never said so not sure where you’ve got that from. Anyway, hope you’re well soon and at the Wolves game.

That will be a comfort to those to ill to go to a game that you find their absence acceptable.

Jesus these threads of 'I'm a bigger fan than you' are getting tiresome.

I feel sorry for those who have supported City through the years of shite who are now getting priced out or forgotten in this 'new global' City that we have become. Legacy fans are becoming less and less. And they are who I feel sorry for.

Those who are staying quiet on this issue or who are supporting these changes of removing season tickets, the club will come for you eventually one way or another.

I love Manchester City because my dad and his dad were proud Mancunians and loved City. Family. And now my daughter loves City too.

I knew other family and friends at the games. There was a community. If that community disappears, I'm out. As that to me Is what this is about.

I’ve loved these last 15 years but the more I read on here about people arguing and belittling other blues, maybe it’s time for a reset. Get the charges concluded, IF it’s bad, hit us with it. Let’s start again, cheaper tickets, core fan base back together…
I don’t know, just speaking my mind
