I have just downloaded the NHS App to get my COVID pass. Checked it out, and it expires on 24 Aug!!!! Does anyone else have an expiry date as well? Just assumed it would last longer

Mine's the same - 24 Aug. I'm assuming yer have to get a new pass with every fuckin' home fixture!

Yes it appears to have changed in the last few days. No idea if it means anything or not but to be fair I have no idea why it had a expiry date in the first place

Probably because if you register a positive test as I did it disappears and when I registered a negative test result it was back on with a 28day expiry date.

It updates itself automatically .
Just have it ready at the turnstile .
You can also download it to a file which may be easier/quicker to access for some.

No it has given me a new date yesterday and today. Now expires on the 24/08. On Friday it expired the 19/08. Deffo changed the way it works over the weekend

Ah, that's better. I'd really like a credit card sized piece that just slots into a wallet, just like an old style train ticket!

I did exactly same and was perplexed/ worried but others have now explained why it shows that date etc

Also reduces the likelihood of unvaccinated people sharing/copying someone else’s QR code to try and get around the regs
