Yeah I’ll be doing the same, nothing wrong with the traditional season card. A piece of plastic can’t run out of battery charge. I imagine they are trying to control that the ticket is actually being used by the person it is issued to and not passed on to someone else.Mobile ticketing but other methods available

Deffo worth checking, with them refunding/crediting I bet the system can’t handle it.It doesn't mention if those on the auto-renewal for direct debit need to do anything.
I imagine they don't and it will auto renew as normal but might be worth checking.
