That seemed a bit too simple. I’ve now got a blue card in my apple wallet that says City v Norwich and then at the bottom it says “hold near reader”

Is that all there is too it? It took 30 seconds to do. Have I missed anything?

Does it have a barcode on it as well? I'm asking because my ticket against Everton did. My phone doesn't have the NFC to work on the reader, but it read the barcode. But yes once you've set up a Google or apple wallet it's pretty instantaneous.

I’m glad somebody else asked that because I haven’t got a fucking clue. I’ve googled it and apparently on an iPhone you don’t have to turn it on as the apps that use it turn it on automatically. So presumably I don’t have to do anything when I scan the season ticket at the ground as the phone does it. All sounds so simple now but when I’m still outside 20 minutes after kick off we’ll see how simple it is then.

I heard they were doing away with badges on H&S grounds.
Fear not though, they have a virtual badge you can download to your phone or you can print a paper copy off at your local library assuming it hasn’t been closed down like many have!

If any one's looking at your lapel where the badge would have been, you can get your phone out and show them a picture of said badge (assuming you've loaded the app onto your phone and then into the appropriate wallet). Not complicated at all don't know what the fuck you old bastards are moaning about.

BTW does anyone in their fifties or older not think their twenty something self knew fuck all?

Yes I think so. It’s in the control centre on iPhone as I’ve just found it. It was already on there but there is “Access within Apps” at the top that I presume needs to be on. I may be wrong though.

I wasn’t at the Everton game so can’t speak from experience but NFC doesn’t involve barcodes. If you use your phone for Apple Pay or Google Pay, it’s the same technology as that - just hold the phone near the reader.

Cheers that's my dilemma. A barcode I can download it onto this phone. No barcode I have to buy a new one.

I wasn’t at the Everton game so can’t speak from experience but NFC doesn’t involve barcodes. If you use your phone for Apple Pay or Google Pay, it’s the same technology as that - just hold the phone near the reader.

I can’t remember if the Everton game had barcodes or not but it took me about 5 attempts for it to read the ticket

On mine there's a "display code" at the bottom of the eticket, when you select it there's what looks like a dynamic barcode in that it changes every so often. I assume that's to stop anyone taking a screenshot and passing it on that way.

I wonder how many people on here who are complaining about the little bit of data the club hold on you have got a Tesco clubcard? I could spend several hours telling you about what they know about you; right down to when your wife/partner has their period.
