I can’t remember if the Everton game had barcodes or not but it took me about 5 attempts for it to read the ticket

Anyone go to Wembley? I took about 5 goes for the reader to scan my ticket. Is this the same tech the club will be using on my phone?

I wonder how many people on here who are complaining about the little bit of data the club hold on you have got a Tesco clubcard? I could spend several hours telling you about what they know about you; right down to when your wife/partner has their period.

Agreed, there's so much info about us whizzing around the net that City tracking what we buy (or don't) is trivial in comparison.

If any one's looking at your lapel where the badge would have been, you can get your phone out and show them a picture of said badge (assuming you've loaded the app onto your phone and then into the appropriate wallet). Not complicated at all don't know what the fuck you old bastards are moaning about.

BTW does anyone in their fifties or older not think their twenty something self knew fuck all?

I knew in the early 80,,s you had to I D lads 20 yards away by seeing 5p size badges no colours in them days if you got it wrong possible problems the youffs of today worry about wi fi !!

I don't need a Tesco clubcard to shop in their stores, so I don't have one.

If I want to watch City at the Etihad however (without buying a printer or traipsing down to the ground 25 times a year to collect a ticket in person) I will need an NFC enabled smartphone.

On mine there's a "display code" at the bottom of the eticket, when you select it there's what looks like a dynamic barcode in that it changes every so often. I assume that's to stop anyone taking a screenshot and passing it on that way.

There is nothing anything like that on my ticket.

That was my ticket for Everton. I put my phone into the slot and it activated the turnstile.

Nothing to do with payment, the eticket is downloaded to the Gpay wallet.

I begrudge having to ensure that I have a smart phone to get into the stadium. I can't think of a single time during my every day living where i have to possess a smart phone to do something. Smart phones are not cheap.

My season ticket is very similar to the Everton ticket, with a show code option.
