I begrudge having to ensure that I have a smart phone to get into the stadium. I can't think of a single time during my every day living where i have to possess a smart phone to do something. Smart phones are not cheap.

I wonder how many people on here who are complaining about the little bit of data the club hold on you have got a Tesco clubcard? I could spend several hours telling you about what they know about you; right down to when your wife/partner has their period.

I don’t Tesco to tell me when Mrsery has got the Painters & decorators in believe me!

Soooooo I’ve downloaded mine but I’m struggling with another one, as it’s not in my name but thr mrs. She doesn’t have an account on city but I can see her seaso card, just can’t download it?

Try logging completely out of the website then log on again manually via your browser (NOT the email link). Log on to the tickets section & in My Account go to Seasoncards. You should be able to load it from there. Good luck.

Looking at what seems to be a reasonable phone, the Moto g9 SIM free on sale at Argos that is NFC enabled, 64gb memory, £99.99. Is it any good or does anyone know a good equivalent for a similar price or cheaper? I don't want to go down the print at home route and if I'm forced to buy a new phone I may as well get a half decent one. It gets good reviews for long battery life which may be a bonus.

Re the stadium being cash free, Liverpool have introduced that this season. Every transaction will be by debit or pre loaded card.
Once they find you don't spend anything at the club shop or food/drink outlets you may get a thank you for your support but letter

Wow. I can’t actually believe real people have this thought. There is no way you are a real person if this is the thought that comes to your mind when they talk about going cashless

Assuming your iPhone is 7 or later.
Any phone prior to this will not automatically work without an additional app that has to be downloaded .
A few will get caught out by this as people are pulling out years old phones out of a dusty drawer and hoping to use them.

Exactly. Hence the reason the club should have launched this alongside the existing card system so that people who are unsure can spend 12 months getting their head around it.

The first few games are going to be chaos.

I remember the scene from the George Clooney movie ‘Up in the Air’ where his character is complaining that old people take ages at the airport secrity queue - its gonna be like that as the old guys struggle to find their phone / put their glasses on / rememebr their pass code / figure out how to bring the digital wallet up.

The old system was fast, everyone had 15 years to get used to it. card out, beep, in.

Its gonna take loads longer.

not to mention the many many older folk who have no affinity for technology and possibly dont even have a phone.
