The first few games are going to be chaos.
I remember the scene from the George Clooney movie ‘Up in the Air’ where his character is complaining that old people take ages at the airport secrity queue - its gonna be like that as the old guys struggle to find their phone / put their glasses on / rememebr their pass code / figure out how to bring the digital wallet up.
The old system was fast, everyone had 15 years to get used to it. card out, beep, in.
Its gonna take loads longer.
not to mention the many many older folk who have no affinity for technology and possibly dont even have a phone.
I think almost everyone going to games will have a mobile phone, the problem is quite a few older fans will have a bog standard basic one they rarely use. It's there for emergencies and so the family can keep in touch. They're fucked with this new system unless they buy a new one and get someone to sort it out for them
