Seasoncard - 2021/22

Seems like plenty of people are in the same boat when it comes to having multiple tickets attached to your account.

I’ve downloaded mine fine but cannot download my sons. It shows in my account but when selected it’s greyed out and simply won’t let me add to wallet.

I’ve binned off the email link and manually entered the website… still the same!

I cannot set up an online account for my son as he’s only 9 and “he doesn’t meet the age requirements”.

It really is a bit of a shit show to say the least!

It's explained in the email they sent telling you the s/ticket was ready to download, under Ticket Transfer.
Our we getting any goodies pack this season or are they just taken your money and that's it ? Don't really care myself but would be nice if first time season.ticket holders get something !

Not reading back but I've got a company Android phone and the company doesn't like "unauthorised apps" that includes some travel ones, and sports ones (so emails stop working till you delete the app).

Following the Q&A for Android on the website I've got as far as signing in to my account, then it says

Step 2.

Once signed in to your account, please make the below clicks in the order shown on the phone below.

1. Select 'Seasoncards'

There's no "seasoncards" to select.
You don't need an app other than Google Pay, so as long as that's not disabled, you should be fine. Seems you may also need NFC which a company phone could disable.

You need to follow the link in the email as well - if you just go to your account and Season cards, it's not there. The link is clearly to a different bit of the website which also has a season cards bits. Think the word is shambles

You need NFC turned on. I imagine this could have been the issue some had for Everton thinking the barcode was fine
So why would it show a barcode?

My dad's got an appointment booked for them to set his phone up. Pretty sure it's not got an NFC chip so can see that going well. Good to see they've been inclusive in all this - if you don't have a smartphone or one without NFC, you can print it out. Yeah, cos that group are really likely to have access to a printer. If you can't do that, you can just pop down and collect your tickets for each match.

Or, they could just provide something which gave people access, like some sort of plastic card thing.

Barcode is the backup option, using NFC by holding the phone close to the scanner should be the quicker way to trigger the turnstile, rather than displaying the barcode then fiddling around shoving the phone into the slot for the scanner to read the barcode.

The QR code looks a bit shite on mine, like it's only partially loaded.

Funny thing is, how many of us used to take season card in your phone case and just whip it out at the gate.

This particular idea of technological progress is actually slower than the one it replaced.

Darth Vader : Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed.

The ability to destroy a PLASTIC CARD or even a whole system, is insignificant next to the power of the Force of a Bluemoon moan :-)

The whole thing is an absolute shambles. Right back at renewal one of my kid's cards didn't show as being able to renew and despite endless waits on the phone, calls and even emails to Danny and Supporter Services it has still not been fixed. I've just gone to my other 2 kids' phones to see if the mobile ticket thing worked for them and both have them have somehow now been given new supporter numbers with no history and no seasoncards for this year. So as things stand I've got one kid I can't seem to be able to buy a card for and 2 I already have who can't access them. Whoever is responsible for the whole switchover must be sacked surely - it's a complete mess. If we were at home first game I'd say my chances of getting all 4 of us in were zero.

Introducing new IT systems is a complex operation and so to protect the operation it is normally thoroughly tested on QA infrastructure that mirrors the production version. The most difficulty thing to do is include the human element as you obviously get different skill levels of the users. The best way to rollout a new system to the public to do it in phases. The use of a digital card using NFC technology should be no different that using a physical card, tap to pay is a prime example, the banks introduced it and slowly people started to use it, there was no big-bang approach, then along came Apple who introduced Apple-Pay, effectively a digital version of tap to pay, this was followed by Android and Goggle, the advantage of them being the bio-metrics that offer greater security.
Clearly, introducing a digital NFC season card is far more difficult that bank cards, there are no friends and family issues such as children to consider with bank cards. I'm baffled by the club's stance on this, to suggest that the alternative is printing tickets at the stadium is a nonsense, introduction of another level of queuing good grief do they live in the real world?
The way this should have been introduced is by giving an option of physical or digital maybe, with an incentive such as a club shop voucher to go digital after all the cards cost in the region off £5 plus the additional administration and the postage / theft during delivery.
So, they have decided on the big-bang approach I'm truly baffled as to why I can only assume that the whole infrastructure has been replaced that only allows digital but I still find that unlikely the entry is controlled by a chip that has information that the reader needs to validate entry wherever the chip is shouldn't matter
Luckily I don't have any issues with technology, and I'm in my first season as an over 65, I have a smart phone I've added the "ticket" to my Apple wallet in a matter of minutes and the only issue I might have is there is some issue at the stadium I always arrive early so hopefully I should be in my seat for kick-off.
When we moved to CoMS it was the first stadium in the UK to have a NFC entry system and I don't remember any real difficulty, interesting the readers weren't tap but you placed your card in an wide slot which would illuminate blue when verified this was because at the time "tap to.." wasn't around.

While I’ve been very bullish on here about people needing to move with the times and how digital tickets are a good idea, I do agree that for a season (or two), we should’ve been given the option, to give some of the old duffers ([emoji6]) time to figure out how it works.

Had the same problem, if you log into Son's account on your own device will let you download as an additional membership.

Nailed it. Absolute shitshow of monumental proportions and I think we have only just scratched the scab of the enormity of this disaster. We had around 42K Seasoncard holders and probably less than 5% visit forums. That means for everyone struggling on here there are AT LEAST twenty times as many others struggling in silence. What is the most astonishing however is that nobody appears to be checking on what is happening, and if there is someone, why are they not intervening?

It really shows signs of a rudderless ship or of an organisation that has become so big that nobody has the full picture. Supporter Services have never been good, but at least once upon a time you knew where you were in the queue and eventually somebody answered. Solutions were slow but eventually came, unlike now, where this absolutely needless change of entry format has created the mother of all fuck ups that will be unveiled at any turnstile you care to visit on August 21st.

Why couldn't they just send cards? Why do they have to make things even more complicated? My daughter doesn't have an email address or smart phone, and I can't download her ticket to my phone for some reason. So that means I have to buy a printer. Madness.

Tbf it’s a simple process to set up an email account and you can pick up a new iPhone 12 for as little as £700.

Absolutely spot on!

I never miss a game, and I’m all for improvements on Green issues; so having the Apple Wallet ticket is ideal for me because I don’t share my ticket with anyone else and I want there to be less plastic usage in the world. I’m also happier that I haven’t got the tin I never make use of or the tat that used to come with it.

I found the procedure of getting the ticket onto my phone very easy and I’m ready to go for the new season, I’m very happy with the new system (although will get there early for Norwich, just in case!), and can’t wait!

But for those who share tickets with others (I know plenty of people, for a variety of reasons, who have a seasoncard but pass it on to mates when they can’t make it rather than exchange it with strangers or even away fans in the City Ticket Exchange system)… or those who don’t have smart phones that support this new system… this is a bit of a shit situation for them, so they should have had the option to have a hard copy seasoncard.

Any news on when the system is up and running for transferring tickets to people on your friends and family?

lad sat next to me isn’t going to the first game.

I am in touch with Supporter Services via Danny Wilson and I know from my Supporters Club that a few people have had the same issue. I'll let you know how I get on - the real issue is that Supporter Services weren't taking calls last time I tried (which I would have thought maybe means they aren't really offering much of a service?) so you can only email them and then they just don't reply. I only got a call from them because I happened to have Danny's email from another issue but the club really needs to do better. And even them turns out they haven't sorted it.
