Seasoncard Renewals | Slight Price Increase

I have a stable job and own my own home. I also have three children to support with an ever increasing squeeze on my wages. A lot of non essentials have been got rid of due to cost of living, unfortunately the next thing on my list will be season ticket. I’ll likely keep this season but if it gets any tighter it will have to go. It’s a shame because I’ve had it for over 20 years. I’ll join the ever increasing list of former match going fans who watch the games on the telly. If that makes me an entitled **** then so be it.

In this eventuality my seat will be one more empty for the seat counters for 90% of the games, but at least some tourist can use it for Real Madrid or United and spend £100 in the club shop. That’s what we want isn’t it???
Thing is I had a season ticket for about 20 years and gave it up in 95 becuase a young family and commitments meant I couldn’t afford it anymore. That just life and choices we make, I never expected the club should charge less so I could still afford one. Maybe my seat was taken by you.
For a while I couldn’t justify spending anything on football now I can and pay for about 6 or 7 games a year, everyones circumstances and choices change, the club can’t be expected to accomodate everyones circumstances.

39th consecutive year of a season ticket. Quite proud of that.
I've had a season ticket since 1974, and being sat in SS3 now it's not too bad price wise but and it's a big but..why the fuck are they increasing prices again when so many people are struggling with household bills etc.
Ps it's a general question .not aimed specifically at you WW

My in SS Lower block 114 has gone from £465 to £725 very strange.
Like me, sounds like you were relocated from one of the cheap seats on the front few rows to another seat due to the new advertising boards being put in. The club said they’d give me my new seat at the lower price for this current season then I’d have to pay full whack after that

It's an unpopular opinion but I won't apologise for it other than perhaps generalising about people's earnings.

If you have a stable job and own your own home, I don't think you're in a place to complain about a 20 odd quid increase on a season ticket. I think we've all been in the position where we have to prioritise outgoings and stop other hobbies and unnecessary spending, that's just the way of the world. City still offer incredible value compared to other top clubs.
It's not an unpopular opinion it's a ridiculous one!
" Guarantee most of those moaning about a miniscule price increase are on over 50 grand a year salaries, get a fucking grip you entitled cunts."
My wife and myself combined earn over 150K, do you really think we would complain about a price increase? In reality I haven't even checked the renewal price as of yet!
That said it doesn't mean I don't understand that for some any price increase will be a burden and this season more than most one they cannot ignore!

I’m not. I never do. Just having @ general chat about the cost of living and the sacrifices people are making. I doubt the board members at City are making such sacrifices. They are the ones driving season ticket and matchday ticket price increases every season. Nobody is asking for a reduction in season ticket and matchday ticket prices, but a freeze next season would have been welcomed and a good PR excercise by the club.(we say that every season)

Prize money, TV money, and sponsorship deals are rolling in like never before at City. £800K-£1mill a season from season ticket increases isn’t really going to make a big difference in the grand scheme of things off or on the pitch. Good fan PR by the club is worth much more than that. But for some reason the Directors at City either don’t acknowledge that, or are oblivious to it. WHY?
Because the club don't give a flying fuck about the normal match going 'legacy fan' that's why. It may be an unpalatable truth for some but unfortunately it is the truth. We are simply customers to be monetized and milked. If you don't like it then off you go and more tickets for corporate and the ticket outlets.

very true. Us legacy fans - ie city’s core support. They couldn’t care less about us.

thing is if they price out the legacy fans we simply don’t have the corporates and tourists to replace us
