Seat Counters - 2023/24

Agreed. Anyone not in the scheme should treat getting a final ticket as a nice bonus and not be too upset if they miss out.
Sorry but who are the more deserving fans - season ticket holders who aren’t in the cup scheme, or people who don’t go all season (apart from the cup final) but are in a supporters club?

I’m sure I got what seemed like a random 2,000 points or so for no apparent reason back in the early days of points. Not sure if everyone got that as like a joining fee or something?
My first points were 1500 for "imported loyalty" in July 2002.
Took my (then) 4 year old son to his first away game in 2007 and he was awarded 20 points. No imported loyalty for him (obviously) but bought him his first season ticket that season and for some reason he was given 1000 bonus points a couple of years later

I think the 1pm window for non cup scheme over 10k points will be a free for all and all the remaining tickets will be sold then. Unfortunately I'm waiting for 4pm.

If I'm right and it sells out at 1pm will the club suspend the criteria drop downs in case we get more tickets from the FA at a later date?
Agree that the 1pm window could be busy. Last year the criteria for ST holders not on the cup scheme was 17,500/14,500/10,500…..This year it’s straight to 10,000 which would suggest that more have been siphoned off, although a lot of fans - particularly the higher pointers - may well have joined the cup scheme for this season which could also be skewing sales. After all, beating United in the final last season is just about the best advert for joining the cup scheme you can get!

Well, there will be loads of perfectly good reasons why ST holders are not on the Cup Scheme. Such as living a long way from Manchester and not wanting to face the extra cost and transport hassle of attending Cup games. Such as not having a Supporters Club anywhere close to where they live. What I fail to understand is why members of Supporters Club seem to have priority in these situations? Shouldn't most of them be ST holders anyway and, therefore, not in need of priority treatment?

SCs get a certain % of tickets for all matches. Whether you like it or not, they are part of the ticketing system, just the same as corporate, staff, 18-25s, those on points etc.

I think they are allocated tickets first so that they can arrange to all sit/stand together and they can get on with hiring a coach.

Yes in my experience most most OSC members are season card holders so a fifth of tickets aren’t really being taken out of the points pot. It would like the nearest Branch is a fair distance from you but it might be worth contacting the nearest one anyway and weighing up if there are sufficient benefits to joining.

Downside to supporters club is not getting to choose where you are sat, but for some season ticket holders they just want a hassle free experience instead of having to wait for a sales window to come round. Positives and negatives.

It’s the unfair allocation to undeserving people in supporters clubs that needs addressing.
