Sebastián Coates

Fresh reports out of Uruguay suggest that we've stepped up our interest in Coates and that both Juventus and Dnipro are also trying to sign him. He'd cost close to £10m.

More defenders, kin hell.

Whilst he may be a good player, we will be limiting Rekik, Wabara, Savic, Veseli etc.

Unless of course he is loaned out until Toure/Lescott are moved on?

Boyata also. Law of the jungle might set in with the strongest surviving, although Rekik is just 16 so I don't think he's a few years and loans away from regular first team action unless he truly is a wonderkid, ala Micah.

Veseli was tried at RB and while he admirably kept Irish XI's best player quiet, he seemed awkward there so isn't likely to be able to switch. Boyata though does show some promise as a RB with his good runs and also his crossing against Bolton was really good. That could be how Boyata survives at the club if others get ahead of him as CB, which Savic looks like he could.

Wabara still 19 and very promising too but a loan move is more likely for him.

Would like this to be true. Looks a potential star

Really hope we sign him.. He is one for the future ...
very Imposing , Tall , and has already played for Uruguay ...

Guardian had reported about this deal a few weeks back and its building up now ! Maybe more of an Jerome Boateng replacement + also keeping in mind we will not have Kolo and Yaya for their African Cup ... November month . Any injury to a Cb during that month would mean we need him and Savic !

Very close if you believe Tutto Mercato, everything I've seen of Coates suggests a world class prospect.
