Yeah, I think he'd be an amazing defender. He'd grab alot of goals as well as providing technicality like Kompany. The thing is, there's no point now because we've got the required center back who should be one of the best in the world (savic). The executives are trying to save money (Fifa financial fair play rules) and purchasing Coates would just defeat the point of getting the bargain buys (clichy and savic).

I think Kolo might be toast next summer. Just hope nobody signs him before then. Or maybe sign him to a four year deal and loan him out for a season.
If Kolo wasn't the brother of a certain star player, he'd probably already be on the transfer list IMO. He does offer experience but Kompany is mature beyond his years and Lescott also has experience and has proven to be less clumsy than Kolo in high pressure situations.
BUT, as Kolo is the brother of a certain star player, I don't think he will be going anywhere soon in order to keep the certain star player happy. :)
