Oh sorry, my typos give way once more. Lescott is the encapsulation of an English Center Back. I'm going on what I've been told by Fabian Z. It's apparent that Coates lacks the technicality exuded by Kompany and, allegedly, Savic. It seems that he's the extremity of the spectrum on which Lescott exists. If you get my drift.
What part of what Fabian said gave you that impression?

Practically all marauding center backs are capable of fulfilling a defensive midfield position or even midfield position or full back.
You are not answering my question though. As simply as you can (i.e. Highlight the portion), what did Fabianz say about Coates in his summary of Coates skills, that led you to conclude he is

1. Not technical
2. More like Lescott.

Coz I see nothing in what Fabianz said, that supports such a conclusion

1. The technicalities required to become a center back usually means that they can effectively fill out a more tenacious role such as those indicated in my last reply. Since he cannot fulfill any other role, I sincerely doubt he's a viable candidate for such.

2. Kinda the same reason as the above.

I see. It seems from your comment, you are saying Fabianz comments about him almost not making the club as an 18 yearold DM is the Key! Is this correct?

Not so much that mate - its just the way he writes suggests someone to whom English doesn't come all that naturally - I'm just interested, is all.

No need to apologise mate - yep, English is my first language. I speak Spanish too, but when I write in Spanish it certainly betrays the fact that its not my first language.

I just got that impression from the way you write, and was interested to know - no malice intended

The list of teams now interested in Coates according to local and foreign media. If our interest is genuine the club might have acted quicker:

- City
- Liverpool
- Arsenal
- Inter
- Lazio
- Juventus
- Lyon
- Dnipro
- Valencia
- Porto

-- Thu Aug 18, 2011 11:14 pm --

Oh well...

Roberto Mancini's hopes of signing Uruguay centre-back Sebastian Coates before the end of the transfer window have been dashed after he was told spending will end with a £25million deal for Arsenal’s Samir Nasri.

Although Mancini has targeted Coates, 20, from Nacional as a replacement for Nedum Onuoha, he has accepted that City are unlikely to do any more business this summer following talks with chief executive Garry Cook and football administrator Brian Marwood.
