Security at the Etihad

It should be quite funny when they take all the inflatable snakes off the Liverpool fans for security reasons on Saturday.

No matter how small? That could be anything. For example, are we going to report any fan who is seen reaching into a bag? I expect that several thousands will do that. I would be surprised if many fans are capable of identifying the beginning of a terrorist attack before its too late. It used to be that there were obvious warning signs such as a rucksack left unattended. But these days the suicide bombers don't bother leaving the bombs anywhere. I think we're better just treating the match as any other.

You are right in most fans not noticing the start of an attack and the nature of this beast is they are happy to die for their cause of course. Most would still like to cause terror and death and get away to do so again though. Usually after the event you hear of people saying '' I saw the man/woman looking worried and acting a little strange,i thought it was a bit odd....but.....'' Discarded bags and packages are another fan's can help by taking a bit more care and avoiding disruptions. After 9/11 i was involved in two controlled explosions on ships, one was a bag containing sandwiches and another a case containing binoculars. In spite of tannoys telling people not to leave packages unattended and countless calls when both these were reported for someone to claim them nobody did. The area had to be evacuated and they were dealt with after causing delays for many. Not to mention hunger in the case of the exploded sandwiches lol!

The plus side for the UK is the stretch of water and the tunnel separating us from the rest of Europe. This means it is more difficult to move weapons and the amount of ammunition needed to launch an attack like Paris as easily,as opposed to just putting them in the boot of a car and driving straight there from Belgium, without any border checks.

After recent events in Paris i think it would be a good idea for fans to contact the club and urge them to step up security.

Pat downs bag checks etc.

All sports stadia in America have it so it must be workable.

Yes it will take longer to get in but safety comes first.
I have a sneaky feeling the club might already be on the case

So you would rather let someone in with a live grenade for example or a quick check beforehand ?
And where did any one say they would rather let someone in with a live grenade instead of a quick check beforehand ? I must have missed that because I cant believe you would make it up
