Seeing City fans in public

Stuck in Prague (thanks Iceland Volcano) last year. Wandering around and across the road was a bloke in a City Jacket, shirt, bag, hat. Shouts out "Blue Army" to the embarassment of the wife. Turns out he was a Norwegian Blue very knowledgeable about the team. Had a photo took with him and left. Seemed like everywhere I went after that ,he was there. (and no he wasn't stalking me)

i bet he was

Two Coppers came up for a chat on the concourse at Upton Park last season. They were evidently bored with nothing to do. Another City fan stood eating his pie joined in with the conversation and the one Copper was "do you two know eachother" and seemed surprised that two strangers were having a laugh about City together.

It's very rare that I won't end up talking to someone random at a match or acknowledge another Blue in the street. I've certainly never been to an away match alone without meeting someone new on the way.

Served a family in Nandos tonight, they were visiting from Manchester (recognised the accent) asked him if he was City or United, he and all his sons are United fans, but his wife ( season ticket holder) and his daughter are City fans (Served them their food first, the daughter said "City first" made me laugh) . Talked to him and his wife for about 20 minutes after their meal about football, he was a genuinely nice bloke for a united fan, had a good understanding of the game too, probably cause he is a rare breed of Manc united fans. He did try and convince me that United fans outnumbered city fans 25 to 1 in Manchester, his wife was having none of that.

You mentioned in the 1st post that you were in Worcester, so do you work in the Nando's next to the Vue? If so, do I get a discount if I wear my shirt? lol
I dont work in that Nandos mate, I work at the one up Merry Hill, went to that Nandos on friday actually, wasnt as good as the one I work at ;)

I work in Burton on Trent in the week and it's plastic rag central. There are so few blues that I probably know them all by name. But I saw a kid of about 8 with the full kit on in the supermarket queue last week. I said to his dad 'nice kit mate' and it turned out he was a rag but his missus is from Chorlton and has clearly won the battle.

Theres a couple of Blues in Coors, and a Polak bird in Marston's bottling plant is a Blue too.

Was wearing my 2009/10 home shirt in KFC in Edinburgh Craigleith "The Quarry" centre and a young lad came in wearing the 2009 3rd strip, we nodded briefly in recognition of our superior taste...in football that is, not chicken.

My postman is a city fan... Nothing strange in that I know but I live in Colchester!! Quite a few blues here and I always have a chat with blues I see. I was in Benidorm last week and there were blues everywhere. My license plate is obviously a man city one so I get lots of horn blasts and waving when driving around.

Here in oz I'll always offer a "nice shirt" or "c'mon you Blues", because for most of my time as a city fan it has been so rare to see another fan. In city's lower division days the only place I'd see other city fans was at football games. Now it's a bit more common.

When I'm in the UK I'm less inclined to say something, mainly because all I get in return is a look of shock that someone with a skip accent would react to a city shirt!
