Seko Fofana

Think he could make a career out of being a mid-table side player in Ligue 1 or BuLi. Just don't think he will be good enough for us.

But we need to realize this isn't a bad thing. As good as our Academy is (and Seko's age group isn't nearly as good for their age as some of the younger sides), not all of them will make it with us. If we can produce players that have good careers elsewhere and generate some money through sales, that will show the progress of our Academy as well.

The thing is, we should be making these kind of decisions after actually seeing the best of these kids play, in our system(s) in a balanced team, rather than just binning them or loaning them out on the off chance they won't make it or aren't ready. Last pre season, Denayer got chucked in next to 12 year old Humphreys v Real Madrid & Rony Lopes was the invisible man. Then both are gone.

Play him & see if he looks out of place or not, then loan/sell him if he can't fit in.

We can't give all of our young players a chance in the first team and there are too many young midfielders fighting for that chance (all arguably ahead of Fofana in the pecking order): Byrne, A. Garcia, Ntcham, M. Garcia...

We can, but we play fernandos, demichelises, caballeros, bonys, navases, Yayas and all the kinds of unfitable, not good enough, not recovered form injuries yet or unmotivated players all the time instead.

If I was you I'd delete that post before anyone quotes you.

Whoops...

I like Seko, but I'm really, really not convinced he's got the skill-set required. When you compare him with Jack Byrne, and this is just one game's actions like Seko's, then it's worlds apart.

Every game is like that for Jack. He's a vastly better passer, much more creative and a natural technician. Always looks like Seko takes a few extra touches and is never in full control. He's a good player, but I can see him doing well in France and then coming back to someone like a Stoke/Newcastle in 3/4 years time.

Great clip, would like to Jack with better quality player, that Camburr team are pretty shocking, 2nd touch is an apology, 3rd is a tackle

If i could make a comparison with a current player, then i see Moussa Sissoko as potentially someone Fofana could emulate.

Yep. He's vastly better than his teammates. Imagine what he'd do linking up with KDB etc? Some players need a higher level to bring the best out of them.

We can assume that, but let's find out.

Let's see if, Fofana can't play pre season in a Pep system, & that, for example, Manu Garcia is much better.
