He can easily play in a 3 with Matic and Pogba, it's going to be a midfield that lacks creativity, but has great technique and delivery for balls into the box.

SMS works much harder than Pogba defensively, and he's unlikely to struggle as much as Pogba has with conforming to Mourinho's defensive positioning.

The Fellaini replacement thing is true, he's so good in the air and in the box that he might well end up being a massively upgraded Fellaini under Mourinho which would be a shame because it would waste his potential.

Pogba can't really go anywhere. PSG can't get him this summer, Real and Barca wouldn't want him, no one else could afford him

I think that midfield would struggle to win the ball back against teams that keep it on the floor

Even if that does work, they will still have the defence from last season which isn’t the best and isn’t getting any younger:
Savic - 100mil
Bale - 90mil
Fred - 50mil

Not much left for the defence

They aren't getting Bale. They'll get a pair of full backs and that will be pretty transformative. I expect next season they'll still be a way behind us but won't look so out of place in 2nd
 
To line up a midfielder with Pogba-Matic-SMS is to give up any hope to fight for the tittle. That can very well work in the video game though.

I cant believe Mourinho is deciding their transfers. They had Martial playing well again in the left and needed a right winger. Signed Alexis Sanchez to play in the left and bench Martial..they are just targeting "big names". Its a poor man's galactico project.

What about Sanchez? He plays out on the left too.

I theory that shouldn’t really matter as Savic is a midfield player, Sanchez should drift in and leave him space - but it doesn’t work because they are very badly coached, by the look of things
