Sergio Aguero's new deal reduces annual FFP hit from £16.1m to £11.2m. Great business by MCFC to not only lock Aguero up, but also save £'s. Calculation based on declining amortised xfer fee + reported weekly pay decreasing from £200k to £150k (took long-term security, it seems)

What, he's taken a wage drop?

The best part of that interview was him saying he would be here until the end of his contract, and I suspect that he will stick with us now until he is into his 30's and then move back to Argentina. Great little player and not in his prime yet, and hungry to improve

Yup like Kompany and Silva. Its more based on bonus so it doesn't have to comply with the settlement for FFP. Ofcourse it still counts to FFP in general just not towards the settlement this year.

Probably get that 50k a week back in bonus payments over the 5 years.

In most of the new deals, the players have either taken a basic wage drop or received no bump at all. The team is moving away from big guaranteed money (well, it's still REALLY big, just less big) and moving towards requiring player success to get maximum wages. In Sergio's case, there are probably some very easy incentives to get him back towards his previous salary and then some more difficult ones that would result in a pay raise. FFP isn't counting the bonuses in our wage ceiling comparison calculation.
