What, he's taken a wage drop?blumoon said:Sergio Aguero's new deal reduces annual FFP hit from £16.1m to £11.2m. Great business by MCFC to not only lock Aguero up, but also save £'s. Calculation based on declining amortised xfer fee + reported weekly pay decreasing from £200k to £150k (took long-term security, it seems)

In most of the new deals, the players have either taken a basic wage drop or received no bump at all. The team is moving away from big guaranteed money (well, it's still REALLY big, just less big) and moving towards requiring player success to get maximum wages. In Sergio's case, there are probably some very easy incentives to get him back towards his previous salary and then some more difficult ones that would result in a pay raise. FFP isn't counting the bonuses in our wage ceiling comparison calculation.malg said:What, he's taken a wage drop?
