1) He did earn the right to decide it and has. He wasn’t happy with the contract offer City put on the table and wanted longer with more money that City were willing to commit to.

2) This isn’t a ‘Pep’ decision. The contracts are Ferran, Txiki and Khaldoon.

Try and take emotion out of it and see that it’s best for all parties, enjoy the good times and hope he helps us win four trophies over the next 2-3 months.

We did offer him a contract but not one he wanted to sign.

I've been convinced he was leaving since Khaldoon's interview in the summer! And it's still bloody hard having it confirmed.

But it really is for the best, for all, including our Sergio.

Nothing has changed on that though. Sergio had the right to be given an offer (and to have the right to decide on it) is probably what Pep meant, not that he can stay here for as long as he wants on whatever terms.
