Sergio Aguero

I have the opposite gut feeling.

- Juventus pull out of chase and are closing in on Rossi.
- Real Madrid seem to switch sights to Neymar and there as whispers that City will give them Adebayor for cheap if they pull out of Aguero race.
- All of the British media at once say we're in for Aguero, obviously from some sort of tip-off as it wasn't limited to one newspaper. As of last night one even suggested we could sign Aguero before Nasri, with the Mail on Sunday saying a deal is close.
- There is no more logical replacement for Tevez and we have trailed Aguero in the past.

Did anyone hear Graham Hunter on Talkshit yesterday?
He seemed to be of the opinion that Aguero kind of didnt really fancy a move to us & had his heart set on a move to Real

I reckon Aguero would favour a stay in Spain but the complexities of a transfer from Atletico to Real would be similar to a player moving from City to Stretford, and I think Atletico would much prefer to sell to us. And unless it is one big lie, there is supposed to be a clause in his contract forbidding a transfer to Real. I think we hold the cards here but the only hurdle could be if Aguero really doesn't fancy a move to England (like Sanchez) - but I get the feeling Aguero would be more open than Sanchez, he hasn't ruled out a move to England in the past and was "flattered" by Chelsea's interest some time back.

Atletico will do anything to avoid selling to Real. Kun's contract is too long for him to force a move to Real. The only public statement by Kun on Real is that he would never hurt the Atletico fans by moving there, for what it's worth.

I think he would be open to City as a compromise. We're one of the few who can pay his salary demands anyway, which are rumored to be very high.

Just thinking out loud here.. Any chance we Tevez go to Real in quick deal? (not let them steal him of course) For them not to pursue this Aguero thing?

The rumours point more towards us giving Adebayor to Real for 6m with the same result.

Hasn't that wanker said that about everyone we've been in for?

Indeed, it seems like Mourinho wants Adebayor and Tevez and we are willing to let it happen as long as they lose interest in Aguero as they are our only major rival for his signature. Aguero wants Champions League football and I'm sure he'd pick Real Madrid over us but if Real Madrid don't want him, we're the only team who can afford him so he'll happily come here.
