Sergio Aguero

Aguero certainly shouldn't be rushed back but we do need him fit an in form for most of the season.

Some of the comments that I've seen on various threads recently suggest that some people have forgotten how good Sergio is: he is still the best forward at the club.

Agree

He's also the only one of those forwards capable of scoring 25+ domestically..... The team who has that type of player is more often than not the team to beat!!!

I would add though that I can see 4/5 of our midfielders hitting double figures this year, if that is coupled with our attack we'll win the league IMO!!!

I agree. The reason he was average last season was injury. I was half an half when he signed. But when i saw him come off the subs bench and score 2 goals. I was convinced we had signed a great player.

Nasri and Jovetic? Yaya maybe if he plays further forward

We can afford to give Aguero time to get fully fit.

The attacking strength of our team is really special. I don't know who pellegrini will select and providing we stay in all competitions I think we can keep all the players happy. if we can keep Kompany fit and nasty isn't too badly injured we should see a special season.

Agree with you both. Personally think the midfield need to improve their goal scoring. Don't think we had one who got into double figures last season which is piss poor in a top side.

We are fortunate that this year we don't have to rush him back we have Negredo, Dzeko and Jovetic to cover and from what I have seen of them in pre season they will cope admirably in the prem league. Only bring Sergio back when he is 100% too valuable to risk. If that means he doesn't start till October so be it.
Be interesting in that scenario if, as we all hope, we get off to a flyer and the strikers (whoever they are) are banging in the goals for fun, like in the title winning season. Who would you drop for Kun? Would you drop anyone for him? Glad I'm not the manager!

Silva will score double figures this year, MPs team generally is about numbers in and around the box, players such as silva, nasri, jovetic and fern will score many a tap in this year, throw in yaya who consistently chips in with 8+ then we have the realistic opportunity of a midfield scoring 40+, like I said if that is balanced by the strikers we'll win the league, and comfortably!!

I don't know how far away from fitness he actually is I suspect a couple of weeks training will see him back to his old self, I only used October because I think that is when CL kicks in and would be ideal to rotate at that time because up until Christmas you are talking weekend/midweek matches every week and no matter how good and fit the other players are you can't keep playing them in every match. Aguero is world class IMO and I suspect no manager would want their best player out longer than necessary. It should not be forgotten that one of Pellegrini's request before he signed was that Aguero remained at the club, hence IMO why his contract was extended.

The lack of width tied up with packing the middle against parked up teams made it difficult for everyone..
Nasri,Milner,Barry,Yaya are not what id call prolific tbh.

At the risk of starting an old argument up again which I certainly don't intend to do, there was in the last season too much focus on not losing possession even if a slightly riskier pass could have set someone free to take a good shot as well.
