Sergio Aguero

Can I ask you all what your honest opinions are regarding Agueros future? When I saw he signed that 1 year extension, my immediate reaction was that it was a way for him to bump up his wages, whilst at the same time giving City a bit more leverage when the time comes to flog him. However, one thing I've noticed with him is that he almost always seems to raise his arms in celebration when City score, even when its not a particularly important goal, and he does seem in general to really be enjoying himself. Do you all see him as a long term City player like Vinnie?

(for the sake of Clarity, Im not a City fan, but my teams a Mickey mouse non-league outfit so theres no WUMMING attempt here)

i genuinely do. he's on top wages, he's our main focal point of attack and will be for the next few years. if he joins madrid or barca he'll just be another top forward there rather than THE top forward for city.

if he stays here for the next 5 years then he'll become a city legend (already is IMO) and his legacy will be great. he's the player we've dreamt of having since kinkladze left, the ultimate attacker to dribble, pass, shoot, who gets you on the edge of your seat whenever he gets it. i love silva but given the choice i'd rather sell him than aguero. i loved tevez but aguero is a step above. in a few years time we'll look back and say he's the best attacker we've had in our generation and kompany is the best defender.

this will be his best season for city overall IMO, if he keeps his injuries away with the squad we have now he's going to flourish.

maybe i'm blind with hope but that's how i look at it.

Bale's price has hurt Madrid. Whereas they may have gotten him for 45-50 million before, it'll take 65+, easily, before we'd even consider it, and that'd have to be with him expressing interest (which he hasn't done in the least bit).

They did sell Ozil for £40m, so they did really buy him for £45-50 million :)

His best mate is at city (zab) and his next best mate will be here next season (lionel) why would he want to move ? lol

-- Tue Sep 24, 2013 5:50 am --

His best mate is at city (zab) and his next best mate will be here next season (lionel) why would he want to move ? lol

A rag with a time machine?
Haha!

A rag with a time machine wouldn't be on here, mind. He'd be back in the early 60's trying to ensure that Moyes' parents never met. Marty McFly in reverse.

I always thought he would go after 3 seasons which would make this his last one
Am not so sure now,he could do another season or two

What a fantastic player.

Selfish, and under cooked = should be on the bench earning his spot.

That was before the united game he was playing shit then. i stand by what i said.
So you stand by what you said that he should have been on the bench earning his spot, but then go on to post that based on yesterdays performance he deserves to be in the starting line up .

Not quite sure you've thought the logistics of your position on this one.

He was playing regardless. and before the united match he should have been benched for the neg/dzeko combo.

Wouldn't surprise me if he left us next summer. He may very well be happy with life here, but I have no doubt he and his family would prefer to live in Spain.
And if one of those mega-offers from Real came in, we will likely sell him.

I hope he stays for at least two more years before that happens though.

And as the OP pointed out: Aguero ALWAYS expresses joy when we score, often running up to the guy who scored. I love that in a player, a "we're a team" attitude.

He's unquestionable one of our three most important players, Hart, Kompany, Toure and Aguero. That's an absolute world-class spine.
