Well, that's him going to Chelsea then, while we overpay for another average centre back.
How do you get that from the above?
Slightly tongue in cheek, considering the previous summer window.

Lately though, the La Liga stars do tend to end up in London. We will probably use our money elsewhere, i.e. Portugal. ;-)
Fair enough! It would probably make logical sense for Chelsea to be interested, but for some reason I can't see it, nor can I see him going to us.

I think he would be a brilliant signing. We've seen what the likes of Lampard can bring and although he didn't come with the costs Ramos would, he's got a number of years left in the game. He's got so much quality both defensively and going forward, he scores some crucial goals and would help us make that step forward in the CL too. As good as Kompany is, he's always injured. As good as Demichelis is, Ramos is better. I’d love for Demichelis to stay at the club but we should seriously be looking at Ramos. It might be big money but he’d improve us in so many ways. He’s a born leader, he would suit the league, he’s won everything going and if Kompany was injured he can help develop Mangala. If Mangala is struggling he can play alongside Kompany. In terms of the club wanting to develop in the CL Ramos would help no end. He’s passionate and gets stuck in. He’s prone to a booking or red card, but he plays in a league where his style of play is punished. The Premiership would be more forgiving.

Real have had the best of him. We should be signing the equivalent 19 or 20 Yr olds and we'll have the best of them, or shoeing them in from the Academy.

Not centre halves tho, they get better with age and experience, he's 28 not 33/34

Ramos would be a fantastic signing, arguably the best centre half in Europe and has won the lot

Only 28? Boy, I have a feeling he plays 15 years in madrid.

But I still have reserves about him moving away from Madrid, he is one of the icons of that team

He played for Sevilla before Real Madrid, but he has been at Madrid now for 10 years

Still only 28 tho and still have 4 or 5 years playing at the top of his game

Fantastic defender and would walk into any team in Europe

Agreed, and surprised this hasn't attracted more comments on this forum. He would be the best defender at our club. He's won it all. Everything. He'd help our other players develop. Kompany would get even better alongside him, Mangala would have two top players to learn from and he'd settle perfectly into the prem.

Yep spot on. Kompany still has a lot to learn defensively IMO, and Ramos is one of the best, and he's a bit of a nasty c*nt which we lack at times.

Only slant on him is that my Mrs fancies him

Looked like a school boy vs A.Madrid in the Copa Del Rey but overrall CBs don't get better than him....

Yup 28 is not old for a defender. We'd be getting him around his peak.

Just so I'm clear, we spent 32 on Mangala last summer and are considering spending another 30 on a CD? Despite our other glaring needs? Preposterous idea.

Cant see his deal happening, although if this deal is possible im sure Txiki will show an interest.

I would worry about his wages as we have been signing lower profile players lately.

I think Ramos is perfect at Madrid and predict a contract will be signed although he would be a dream signing.

Manchester City and Chelsea eye Sergio Ramos as Real Madrid future remains uncertain

The Spanish defender has two years to run on his contract and if a new deal can't be arranged he would turn his attention to the Premier League.

Manchester City and Chelsea are monitoring Sergio Ramos’s situation at Real Madrid after talks over a new deal went quiet, writes Tom Hopkinson in the Sunday People.

Sunday People Sport has been told that Ramos is not happy at the situation and will speak to Madrid president Florentino Perez this week in a bid to sort his future out.

New boss Rafa Benitez is keen to keep hold of the defender, 29, but with just two years to run on his contract he wants either a new deal or to be able to study options in the Premier League.

City would take Ramos this year, while Chelsea would rather wait until the summer of 2016 when he will command a far smaller fee.

Real would demand around £50million this summer.

This is getting very interesting (two sources) given the need for an experienced CB( Demi is getting old and need to replace him) and Real not willing to meet his wage demands! Although, I think Rags would also be all over this :(
