any team would miss a player like him, but the number of chances the team are creating I could play up front and we'd do alright.

I have confidence in Jovetic/Milner/Navas or whoever else plays instead of him

Yes... because we're becoming a truly top team, which means we can rely on a functioning system when star players are out. At least in an attacking sense. We relied a lot on individual brilliance in the past, now I think we're evolving beyond that. We scored more goals with Aguero off the pitch than on it against Arsenal!

Ferdinho will just have to bang a few in -no problem !!

If it is six weeks it will be an enormous loss, but I am sure Dzeko will step up and I am looking forward to seeing Jovetic get a run of games and its a chance for Mr P to alter our tactics away from home.

This isn't the end of the world.

It's Liverpool at home I'm concerned about, looks like he will probably be out for that which just adds to my worries.

Great commitment from the whole team to a match that we had to win. A vital victory to stay in the race. Thanks for all the support. I’ll get checked to determine the severity of the injury but don’t think I’ll waver. My regret is not to be able to help my team-mates inside the field but until I’m better I’ll support them from the sidelines!

Arent grade 2 strains usually 5-6 weeks a grade 3 is 3 months hope its a grade one .

You always know when you have torn the muscle , its only a matter of how bad the tear that determines the recovery time.

He probably doesn;t want to say how bad it felt at the time but like you say hope its only a strain but I would say its at least a partial tear and its minimum of 6 weeks where he could return in 4 and risk further damage if it was life or death for us at that stage as far as the title or a top four spot was concerned etc.

Unfortunately I am now confident it will be at least as long as we lost Silva for.

Grade 2 tears are usually about 6 weeks. But by the way he went down it won't be this bad. I tore my hamstring midway through a 100m race once, heard it pop, collapsed like a sack of shit and couldn't walk at all for days....Anyways that turned out to be a borderline grade 1/2 (i never got it scanned so i will never full know). Judging by the way he went down and the fact that he wasn't really moving at great speed, i can't see it being anything more than a low grade one. He's probably torn a couple of fibres in his soleus i'd probably hazard a guess at (it's a muscle that gets hugely over stressed in sports that involve running and sudden change of direction). With the amount of medical support he has access to i can't see him being our for more than 3 weeks. Plus they'll probably slip him some growth hormone which will speed his recovery up.

6 weeks with no Aguero will end up being massive for us.

Time for Jovetic to step up now and take his place, either that or we play 5 in midfield and rotate Negredo with Dzeko and Jovetic, there is no way I want to see us play both Negredo and Dzeko together.

So far this season we've scored 2.91 goals per game with Aguero on the pitch and 3.07 goals per game without him. Good as he is, I think we can cope for a few weeks in his absence.
