Sergio's Injury

Hopefully Jovetic can stay fit then. Perfect opportunity for him to make his mark in the side going into the new year. With the FA Cup too it means Dzeko and Negredo will have a lot to do. Having said that, I do not believe we will miss Aguero too much. We can play an extra man in midfield and one up top. Lots of options.

1 month on the City timeline can soon become 2 months, though. If it's 1 month, we have a very negotiable set of fixtures in that time.

Couldn't agree more. Our rehab department must get paid by the hour. Broken toe-nails are 2 weeks, and who can forget Aguero's blisters that kept him out for a month!

Not Good.

Big miss but probably the best run of fixtures for it to happen, as long as no more major players get injured

We need Jovetic to step up and keep fit.

Use Guidetti / Dzeko in League / FA Cup games

Agree, anything more than 5 or 6 weeks and it starts to get trickier. At least with Jovetic fit(at the time of writing) it's like having a new player to replace him.

Could be a blessing in disguise. Look at it this way:

1) Jovetic finally has a chance to shine and he's just back to full training
2) Brilliant though we are at home, MP could now be inclined to play a extra midfielder away which will make us more resilient on the road
3) Kun gets a winter break before his CL showdown with Messi

Top spot by New Year!

This is team management as much as injury management. Great excuse to field Jovetic and Guidetti. Don't worry Sergio will be back in good time.
