I found that unusual too. This is what I find so strange they might not be able to identify the person but the sex ? Not all 27 can have been floating round for years .even stupid things like clothing ,underwear ,earrings ,jewelry etc .and arnt male and female skeletons different anyway ? Seems unusual that bodies pulled from water that have been there a few years tops are unidentifiable.

Mountain rescue have been going up and down the river in dinghys and there are posters up all over town. Really makes you think what the families must be going through.

Happened last year as well, pulled the lad's body out of the river a few days later. Durham is a full blown river though and seems to have comparatively fewer incidents.
