Setanta are on the edge. This has been discussed before on here. Ex-pats seem to get a lot more value out of Setanta than UK subscribers: frankly, it's excellent over here. Does anyone have any idea what will happen to the North American service? Are our owners interested in turning Setanta around and installing MCFC-TV on-board when possible?

I'm actually gutted they might go under. For all the abuse Setanta gets for it's UK coverage, for $15 a month, we get a ton of stuff here (Football, Rugby - both codes - everything world-wide...Aussie Rules, Gaelic Footie, Hurling...) with great reception, and it's a decent way of keeping "in-touch" or "grounded" (even if it is just listening to various accents...I have it on almost all the time, even if I'm not watchng, it's sort of soothing).

I would hate to have just Fox Soccer Channel, or FSC and ESPN.

fuck me i pay twice what your paying and all i get is shit
they can can under for all i care

meh i have fsc and they seem to play mostly all of city's games. If espn got the rights to show them it would be great.

I think its a good service for the money.
the football matters program is always worth a watch

All I have is Fox as well.

I hope Setanta go under, then Fox will pick the rights up for a song, and I'll be able to see a lot more.

When the Rugby is on down the pub, Setanta insist on charging twenty bucks.

Bye Bye Setanta.

Whats wrong with FSC?? They show a shitload of football. City feature many weeks and they have a one hour highlights show. Thats good ebough for me...

I think FSC have secured rights to all Champs League games from next season on. They will always show the English clubs first and foremost, so will also be able to see City in the CL as well as the league the season after next.

;) :D

shit service from a shit company, hope they go bust

It's not shit in the U.S., it's great value for money, and we're talking about the U.S. end of things.

The competition and choice Setanta offered is good for us, especially if you like more than just football and want to avoid the wank that is MLS and below. If all we have (again) is FSC (which means no Rugby or anything else) it's going to be pretty drab. People laugh at Setanta's amateurish presenters, but FFS, FSC takes the biscuit. With both FSC and Setanta we get every single game, every week. What I'm concerned about is that if FSC continue with their arse-kissing of the MLS, we will have much less good stuff, as there are only 24 hours in a day and much they'll drop / won't pick up just for the sake of the MLS and related programming. What I'm getting at here is Setanta is good if you want to avoid all things American "soccer" related.

Now, if you're telling me that FSC will carry every single City game, fine, I can live with no rugby etc I suppose, but I doubt they will, whereas with both FSC and Setanta, I don't think between them a City game wasn't on at some point during the week. There'll be less of the foreign leagues we all like as well.
