It's bleak when you consider id not have got a ticket for gladbach or Sevilla but I got my own tickets for our 1st visits to barca, real & bayern. Bigger grounds I suppose but Sevilla selling out at the points level it has doesn't seem right to me.
I like doing my own thing so a supporters club is a no go for me. The majority would expect you to at least fill a seat on a coach for home games and I'd rather go into town as opposed to sitting in the pub the branch goes from.
The way things seem at the moment there's little chance of catching up as you've stated. One poster has put up that he missed 1 game from the Derby last season yet he fell further behind the criteria for obtaining a derby ticket this season??? I can't do every game so there's no chance of catching up.
I will however consider a more expensive season ticket if it gave me an away allocation too. I wish that I didn't have to consider it but City have created this situation.
I have noticed that the allocation of away tickets to 'corporates' has increased. I've been in the fortunate position to having access to corporate tickets for over 20 years, going back to the opening of the 'new' Kippax. We've had 6 tickets for the duration, same people occupying the seats all the way through and 4 of us going to about 80% of away games - the 4 of us who do the awayd have been doing so since the '70s. There are no points allocated to 'corporate' ticket holders, so whilst 4 of us were regular away travellers, when it came to Utd away, or the first time we played Barca, we only got 2 tickets. That was the case until last year when things changed and we got all 4 - same again this year, including for Seville away. I think, given how long we've held the corporate tickets, we have a fair shout - I do not think however that new arrivals who take a corporate should be ahead of hard core, long term, 'proven' fans, regardless of what type of ticket they hold.
I think you have hit the nail on the head there- City want to sell more corporate tickets at home; How can they make that happen? I know limit the supply of away tickets for loyal fans they will find a way of getting tickets and we will give them one (corporate membership at home with access to away tickets) i.e Superbia without the loyalty. makes £££ for the club also releases normal season tickets for tourists via package firms.
slowly but surely we the loyal fan are getting shafted.

Do people not think the problem actually is the amount of tickets received for what is bound to be a very popular away game? It's not a huge stadium and it's going to be a popular game for the locals as well
I'd say it's probably 50/50 bit hard to juggle mind which ever way you look at it.I hope this is the case but I doubt it.
When the so called fellow blues have only just decided they now want to become match going fellow blues then YES AGAIN.
And thanks for the praise.
