Sevilla (H) | Post Match Thread

I really, really, really miss actually being at the ground and cheering the lads on. I miss losing my voice the day after a match! The atmosphere, the cold, the rain. I want it back!
Partly because I think sometimes I’m losing my judgement of a match when I read the match day messages!!!
No disrespect to anyone on that thread, we all have our own opinions. :-)
Same here , health issues has meant i havent been to a game this season , usually get to at least half a dozen home games before Xmas , ive got some more surgery due so hopefully i will be fit and firing for next year.
Getting old is a tw*t.

You not go anymore mate?
Only once this season unfortunately. I have Long Covid and difficulty walking at present. They’ve just (2weeks ago) discovered that I have a wedge fracture T10 vertebrae and (doc’s words) very, very bad arthritis in my hips especially right one. Just so you realise I’m not feeling sorry for myself … when the doctor had finished explaining, with illustrations, about my back I thanked him and he said ‘that’s the first time a patient has thanked me for telling them they’ve got a broken back’!!! I was just glad I’d got a full diagnosis. *lol*
Sorry, you didn’t ask for my medical history. :-)
I will get back by hook or by crook but it could be a while!!

Sorry to hear you can’t go anymore. I hope things improve for you if it’s health related.

Edit - just read your new reply! Good luck with it all. Sounds painful!

First half highlighted our squad isn't as deep or as good as we, and certainly others claim it is. I don't see many game changers in our team at present, Haaland, foden and kdb and that's it. When teams pack the box and plug the inside channels it's down to our wingers to produce, Grealish isn't doing that, mahrez looks some way off doing that and Palmer is too raw to be relied on to do it, it will be a concern in the second half of the season. We're lacking a Sane type winger.

Second half Pep makes the changes and we look a completely different team, that midfield is so vital to us, kdb the only one taking chances with his passes. Great win in the end doesn't appear to be any injuries and wasn't a tough night for anybody. Keeps the engine ticking over for the weekend.

Buzzing for Rico glad he got a goal you could see how happy he was fort first half was no good wrong set up grealish was best player first half second half loads better that pass from kdb for alvarez goal aswell

Chuffed for Lewis. He had a tense and safe first half, playing inverted. He really came into it in the second half and looks a real prospect. Shame he‘s not 6 inches taller.

Not convinced by Gomez as of yet as a left back. JWE came on, but even he was getting pelters from Pep.

I‘m still not sure what Alvarez’s best position is. He’s like the Walsh that needs a Quinn. Very good finisher and has a good eye for an assist too though.

Mahrez looked a bit better after KDB came on and was given a free ish role as the support striker.

All in all, a decent result in a meaningless game.

Roll on Fulham.

I think once Alvarez finds his feet so to speak in the EPL he will be another Sergio. At least I hope so. He is a lethal finisher but has to get used to the prem and of course his new team.
