Great match. Probably could have got a few more. So glad Spanish Dave got in on the scoring. I was actually surprised Shakhtar didn't get one back. They were really effective on the counter attack and their speed really got to us in the second half.

We've conceded 3 goals in our last 9 games and kept 7 clean sheets.

Liverpool are the ones who've improved their defence though...

Imo, it is much more psychologically damaging for opponents, to have a defensive unit which can also be solid, like tonight, rather than Pep's traditional 'nice football, pressing, but gives you a chance' routine.

At times tonight, we looked like a world class version of Mancini's team but with much more pace & inventiveness. (Tbf, Edin would have scored 5 goals though). We played periods like that at Anfield, too, rather than caving in like pussies, silenced them & should have won.

I said then that we looked like a Champions League winning team. If we defend like this, rather than like v Monaco & Liverpool in past seasons, we will win it imo.
