Shakhtar(H) - Post Match Thread

From Ivan Gaskell (who?), it says "Raheem Sterling has just missed a brilliant opportunity to endear himself to football fans everywhere and own up. Not a shred of sympathy if he's called out for it. Embarrassing for all concerned.#championsleague"

Gaskell has been a BBC reporter for many years, Final Score, MOTD etc, radio, TV. Thought after so many years he'd be above such nonsense.

There have even been suggestions that Raheem should have taken the penalty and missed! Then of course the "match fixing" brigade would have been out in force. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I give you this...

His original tweet was worse he said the above but added his reputation is further tarnished. I believe he deleted that part when he was called out on it. I don't know how to post images but it's on twitter.

I’ve obviously missed something, but what was the thinking behind the flashing mobile phones midway through the 2nd half.

Tribute to Vienna70 or just bored fans having a laugh?

UEFA are to blame. The VAR was used in the World Cup to decent success, THEY chose not to use it for CL, even Pep said it post interview.
No way was any player ever going to say it’s not a penalty if it’s given in a CL game.
These journo bell ends need to wake up and get real.
If this was a decision for the Raggy clowns, it would just be swept aside as a poor decision, yet now they’re trying to hang Razza.
Twats.

Great win and great performance. Pep showing Klopp how to do it. Make changes without harming performance, get the game won and then rest key players.

Sane and Aguero can come back in on the weekend. I thought Zinchenko played well and tucked into the middle nicely. Wonder if we will see Mendy and Sane together down the left on the weekend.

United showed they are a better team away from home without the pressure to attack like they get at the swamp. But Juve should have been out of sight. We will create plenty against them and just have to take our chances as we have been and we will win the game. Positively we had a nice relatively easy game where they had to go at it hard and defend for 90 plus minutes. Tough to then come and play against us where they will see even less of the ball.

Found it strange too. About the 64 min mark. Any explanation. I'm intruiged. Was in 117 but did seem to be co ordinated on all 3 sides.
The game itself. Don't like to use the term first choice 11,but again,I said the same last week after the Fulham game. All the players who take to the pitch slot into their positions and what's expected of them that Pep's first choice 11 could be anyone from 25 players and they would slip in seemlessly.

When all the lights came on you could see that they were only in the areas where season ticket holders don't sit: the back of tier 3 and the front of tier 1. It was tourists, all taking their lead from each other.

Great game and the result didn’t flatter us. Still feel we have more in us.
The hattrick of goals will help lift Jesus confidence for sure. We scored some cracking goals.
Other players earning valuable minutes so no complaints whatsoever.
We will finish top and wait for the draw vs a team that finished second.
Yes. The penalty decision was ridiculous but it didn’t effect the result and it’s UEFA to blame for not introducing VAR.
And it again proved the linesman in the back line is there only to fill up space.
