Shearer on Balotelli

Yes but, apart from the Champions League, the 50+ goals, the dozen caps, the FA Cup winners medal, the European Golden Boy award, the 3 Serie A titles, the Italian Cup, the Euro 2012 Semi-Final, the Italian Super Cup and the Premier League winners medal.....what has the 21 year old Mario actually achieved?

If I was Mario I would be tempted to get into my car and drive down to MediaCity on a Saturday evening complete with my array of said medals, and ask to see Shearer in person

Hoping Italy go on and win the whole thing with Mario scoring the winner

Fucking laughable.

Rooney, yet again did absolutely fuck all in an England shirt because he is up against top quality opposition in contrast to the vast majority of the time in a rag shirt, he is up against teams that have already written the game off as 3 points lost and he can do what he does best, be the flat track bully.

Technically virtually to a man, England last night were a million miles off the opposition and at times it was embarrassing.

You know its fucking bad when the only answer Roy can think off is bringing on Henderson....I bet Pirlo was laughing his cock off at that one!

One We've Kept On File

You may recall that, after the Ivory Coast lost the Africa Cup of Nations final on penalties to Zambia, Wayne Rooney tweeted the following:

'Funny that 2 toures was there all the way and lost. Haha.'

Haha indeed. The responses of Kolo and Yaya are presently unknown, but Mediawatch hopes they both shat a lung laughing.

A Whale In A Matchbox

Hey, we know having a pop at Alan Shearer is not so much shooting fish in a barrel, more firing a bazooka at a whale in a matchbox, but balls to it - Mediawatch is tired.

You may, like we did, have performed an extra-rapid double take when Shearer mused: "Balotelli hasn't achieved anything in his career yet."

Call us lazy if you like, but we're just going to copy and paste the 'honours' section from Balotelli's Wikipedia page for this one:

'Inter Milan: Serie A (3): 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, Coppa Italia (1): 2009-10, Supercoppa Italiana (1): 2008, UEFA Champions League (1): 2009-10

'Manchester City: Premier League (1): 2011-12, FA Cup (1): 2010-11.'

Which, as the petty and vindictive among you will note, is much, much more than Big Al ever won.

shearer is a complete twat, he could have said that balotelli hasn't fulfilled his potential yet (a slightly better way of putting it perhaps), but to say a champs league, 3 serie A, 2 italian cups, fa cup, premier league counts for nothing is very disrespectful and wrong.

i thought balotelli had a great game, made some great runs, used his pace intelligently to make space for himself, he rarely gave the ball away, despite playing in england's final third, his shooting was fairly accurate (he didn't blast many miles wide or high), and on another day he would have scored a couple.

didn't get booked either, remarkable really.

as for rooney, he isn't world class, doesn't perform on international stage, far too inconsistent for the rags. i even think he hasn't progressed that much since his first couple of years there. in fact, i think he has got worse in away, he has put on more weight so isn't as agile, and dropping deep isn't something that suits him, because he just isn't good enough to do that role.

He might have won a lot more than Shearer already but if he doesn't sort his head out he will have nowhere near as good a career,or be as good a player.

He's already had a better career than Shearer ever had.

He's a legend who will be talked about in awe at two separate clubs. You'll tell your kids about Balotelli, as will Inter fans.
He has done nothing to earn that tag yet. One day me maybe, but he hasn't done enough to be called a legend yet.
Being dead is the main prerequisit.

Balotelli isn't as good city fans seem to think. He goes missing in so many games and he misses 5 easy chances for every goal he scores. Sums him up for me when he was taking a free kick last night with him and Pirlo standing over the ball and I said to my mate "Balotelli will demand to take this and watch him sky this like he always seems to for city into row Z." My other mate, also a City fan disagreed with me. Obviously Balotelli skies it into row Z.

Saying that as biased as City fans are I've never ever EVER met more supportive fans. (except a few slating Dzeko despite him scoring more goals than Balotelli despite playing less games)

Shearer, 1 prem? He had the chance to go to UTD twice and achieve something, but chose the extra 5 grand a week both times! Prick!

i dont think it was about the money,

He hates fergie. Also he would have just been another player at the swamp, no matter how big the player fergiescum is very much the man.
Only Rooney has bummed him. Since that new deal at 200 grand a week he's been dog shit lol.

you have a wicked sense of humour Bill

Yeah, I noticed when he said that about Mario. Immediately Lawrenson quipped "Shock"

The thing is they had no idea what Mario was saying. So how can they say he was moaning?

Idiots.

If Shearer thinks Mario has won nothing in his career, then perhaps the two of them should compare medals.

But why are we thinking for one minute that anyone on MOTD will ever speak sense ?? We should know better by now.
