Sheffield Utd (A) post match thread

I think some of you lot struggle to understand how the flow of the game works at times. Even when De Bruyne’s passing isn’t at 100%, he’s dictating play, driving attacks, stealing the ball and never goes missing.

When you don’t have a performance like that from De Bruyne, that’s when you come under more pressure because you’re not keeping the ball as well or driving things forward.

When players become invisible and aren’t contributing then that’s when they become a liability, not when a ball no one else could pull off fails to reach its target.

That was a well earned 3 points. The back 6 were very solid and we have that feeling of security again. I'd still start ake at lb versus strong attacking teams but we actually have balance at the back again. Our strongest team on paper is a pressing monster. Ederson, walker, dias, laporte, ake, rodri, kdb, bernado, sterling, foden and jesus. That team would/can cause absolute havoc pressing and can cover long balls in the channel. I have my issues with 1 player but the teams very strong now. We are still transitioning and getting up to fitness but the signs are looking good.

You agree that De Bruyne is disinterested? Because not only is that a completely moronic statement, it’s also wrong and disrespectful.

Nothing really surprises me on here though. Last week FI was saying he wanted Walker out of the team since Cancelo’s technical ability would gel with our midfield on the right (****ing lol).
I like Walker,he's playing incredible football, and he's almost Olympic athlete standard but technically he isn't on the same level as Cancelo. The comments i made were as a result of that part of his game causing us problems. There are games when i would like to see Cancelo start as right back instead, but certainly not until we can find a decent answer on the left.

Hopefully you have read my comments about Kev too.

The blades haven't had a good start to the season and this lead to a belief that it should be an easy 3 points for us. And yet they are not crude aerial ass assault team that is often portrayed; they can actually play some good football and their results so far have not done justice to their performances. They were unlucky to get nothing at Livarpool and deserved the win in fact.

So this was a game fraught with danger for us and we played well. They had one attempt on target in the whole 93 minutes, which I can't remember. They gave the scousers real trouble but not us. Our defence was solid from start to finish and Laporte and Dias clearly deserve the praise received, but so does Rodri. I was impressed as well by the way we got our midfielders back, in the second half, to ensure Sheffield won no quality, second ball possession. At the other end of the pitch Ferran Torres was excellent in the first half especially, and Raz eas excellent again especially in the first half.

So, I was again nervy until the final whistle but a good performance and three valuable points.

I can’t think of a single fixture where we’d be better off with Kyle out of the team based on his form over the last several months tbh.

The only time I see him out of the team is for a rest.
