Sheikh Khaled attempting to purchase Newcastle

Some fans (and im not saying you) class trophy wins as history... Leeds have won 3 league titles, 1 FA Cup and 1 League Cup. The Fairs Cup wasnt a UEFA competition and as such isnt classed as a major trophy, look at it like a European Full Members Cup, so they havnt much history there.

Bridemaids to so many weddings the greatest of course was the 1973 FA Cup Final against Sunderland.

Born from a club that was a disaster- Leeds City in 1919, theyve loads of history cheating, mugging, robbing and general thuggery both on and off the pitch. Yep full of history that lot and hopefully it stays in a division away from us!
Said as much in the Leeds takeover thread, fromed in 1919. Barely relevant until the mid 60s(first title win 1968-69), no UEFA recognised trophies at all. Yet some so called football buffs talk of them like football royalty.

No doubt that they did have a great(dirty) team in the late 60s to early 70s but it feels like it's actually more to do with the 90s more than anything else which is backwards thinking. They didn't win anything, they spent beyond their means just to compete and have suffered for it from what I gather. Parallels can be drawn to many clubs including City there but they don't get the same sympathy or rose-tinted praise. I see them as more like a Chelsea(first title win 1954-55), a big club in their own right but one of the younger clubs that joined the party late for commercial reasons.

I have heard the Everton rumour in the past. I also read somewhere in the last couple of weeks that Fulham were being looked at by ADUG around the time they bought City. Which I hadn't heard before. Is it bullshit?
No idea. City, Everton & Newcastle all seem to tick many of the same boxes. Clubs that are well supported & need some investment & good management to return to former glories. Not sure Fulham really ticks as many of those.

In a "fashionable" part of London; would be a major plus for some people. Not what you'd class as a *sleeping giant* though.

*More comatose in our case back in 2008, and Newcastle at the moment!

I d jump all over Leeds to invest . Massive fan base one team city and a lot of history

leeds would be a harder project and need long term plan just to get into the premier league and then stay for 3 or 4 seasons before anything on a scale to fight the top 10 teams and then the top 6 clubs, leeds have not got that premier league base to start from, and newcastle are about 3 or 4 years ahead on leeds level that would be a good investment right now ??

newcastle is a no brainier and anybody with a ounce of businesses knowledge and football knowledge knows its a good investment ?? and if there is one club that can be a boom club and take off if they bring success is newcastle, they could easy fill a 70.000 stadium or even more if they was winning silverware they are mad about football ???

leeds are the type of club that everybody loves to hate ?? and their fans a so stuck in the 1970s and think football owns them something ?? much like united fans that feel they are untouchable and we (do what we want) but leeds think they are big time but rightly are at the level they deserve to be

That castle twat is doing a piece on it today and guess what its turned into man city cheating article what a cock this guy is I hope city fuck over all these main player so called journalists who have bad mouthed our club recently

This match has another meaning now if this is true !! ;)

The Sheikh Khaled to Newcastle story taking so many twists, including claim PL know about deal (tbc). Another twist: M East family tree experts point to Khaled’s grandfather murdering Sheikh Mansour’s grandfather (his half brother) in 1926. That’s rivalry.

If this really happens, then the geordies will realise what media bias really is.
They’ll come under the same ‘banner’ as us.

I doubt the geordies will get the hate that we face. The media have a special target on our back due being dominated by the rags and dippers.
If they start splashing the cash, then can see they will be a target. Though the beloved financial fair play might restrict them

Wasn't Newcastle the other club that the Sheik was looking at purchasing back in 2008? He saw a lot of potential with that club too so it makes sense that he could advise a family member on that.
One of the four yes.
- Arsenal's owners were not interested in selling
- Ashley wanted too much for Newcastle - he had only bought them the year before.
- Everton directors failed to sign a confidentiality agreement so where excluded.
- That left us.

Is he legitimate and über wealthy as the papers make out or is it not as it seems (wealth “off the radar” as was the case when Rangers were bought by the conman that is Craig Whyte (obviously on different ends of the wealth spectrum)?

Not forgetting Michael Knighton at our neighbours in Stretford.
Didn't they let him dribble a ball around the middle of the pitch before the start of a game at OT.
Turns out he was virtually skint. Still it was funny at the time.
